Congratulations on acquiring. I collect these myself. and may post a few in the future should I get some time, and figure out how to do it. Spend most of my online time reading and viewing posts here, very informative. keep up the good work. the door is ALWAYS open for a timely collector---welcome. Welcome McGill. 5. Here's my TC pickup from the Heritage auction (well...the Sunday night auction anyway ) Still, it's one of my favorite SA covers.
  6. That is a GORGEOUS copy!!!! White pages and perfect centering.
  7. They just don't show up very often. Yours is nice also. Heck, any #7 is nice IMO. My scan is from Heritage, so the reds are "jacked up" in it. It still has really nice colors though. I will try and scan it later and post it.
  8. Thanks guys. I have always thought that this was very hard to find. I will enjoy having it in my collection for a while. — Rick
  9. Well, it's been almost two weeks since anyone has posted here, so I thought I'd throw out my latest pick up. This has always been one of my favorite Torch covers, and this one has nice bright color and the cover is nicely centered with no writing. Even though I paid more than I had intended (don't we all from time to time), I am thrilled to add this book to my Timely collection.
  10. I haven't posted here in a while, but I finally got this book slabbed and thought I'd share. It's a super tuff book to find in high grade. I think there is only one graded higher at 9.2. I thought this might have a shot at that grade, and may resubmit it some day. I had intended to sell this one, but might hold on to it for awhile. Great Bernie Wrightson cover!
  11. I need to shop where you shop! I do too! You probably do.
  12. Thanks guys. I bought this as a "raw" VG+ a while back. Needless to say, I'm thrilled. I thought it was better than the advertised grade, but didn't think it would go from 4.5 to 8.0. — Rick
  13. I just got this beauty in. Just a great Schomburg Nazi cover!
  14. That's a beautiful book. Great pickup! — Rick
  15. I knew someone here was going to grab that book, very nice Mr. Bill. So cool! (thumbs u — Rick
  16. Cool page!!! You just gotta luv Golden Age art. Congrats!! — Rick
  17. I saw this beauty listed on CLink, but really didn't give it much thought based on the ask price, and on rejections on several recent offers I made for other books that were above what I would call FMV. It's sweet!! Congrats!! ... (P.S. .... I'm very jealous) That is just a stunning book, David. (thumbs u — Rick
  18. All great covers! HT #9 BTW, I just realized that I bought all of these books raw (4 of them from the same person) and had them all slabbed. That was fun! I thought the Subby should get a higher grade than it did. I didn't have it pressed, and maybe it would have graded higher had I done that ( ). I actually traded a bunch of comics for the HT. The guy I bought it from said that he had shown it to Steve Borock and he had said that it was the best he had ever seen. Turns out, he was probably right. The Plastic Man was also part of that deal. It's the second highest graded. I think the dealer was kind of sorry he let them go after I told him what they graded out at. I got the Zip from the same dealer. It was "low grade" and actually had tape on the top of the spine. I sent it to Matt Nelson and he removed it and pressed it. He told me that he didn't think doing either would help the grade, but it just looks a lot nicer without the tape. I thought the Action would get a higher grade, but it presents well for the grade. I knew the Mystic was low grade, but have always loved that book, so I went for it. Just caus' everybody wanted to know. (thumbs u — Rick
