  1. That is a beautiful copy!! Your TOS books are sweet also. — Rick
  2. Bob, Great story!!! I also bought my first (and only) copy off the stands. I sold it in 2001 to help pay for my daughter's college tuition. One day I will own another. Your 6.0 was definitely worth the wait. Very pretty copy!!! — Rick
  3. BTW, I'm thinking of sending this book back to CGC. If you look in the LRC of the front cover, it looks like the corner got turned up when they were putting the book into the archival sleeve. I wouldn.t mine seeing if they would fix this. — Rick
  4. Metro has a beautiful #18 that I would love to purchase, but it's a little too steep for me right now. I thought they had a #19 the last time I looked. — Rick
  5. Beautiful book and artwork! That's one of my favorite Captain America covers. I love the artwork inside also. IMO Shores and Avison did some incredible work in these books. Not only were the covers beautiful, but the artwork inside makes them fun to look at over and over again. Here's my latest pickup. Just take a look at some of the incredible artwork inside this issue. Really tempts me to bust this baby out of the slab. What a great spread... WOW... Even the backup Torch story is cool... — Rick
  6. That's a MAJOR pickup, Steve!!! What a beautiful book! Congrats (thumbs u — Rick
  7. WOW!!! That's a really pretty book. Great pick-up. — Rick
  8. I just noticed this... Check out the labels Should I send the book back and get the label fixed? Won't this screw up the census?
  9. This just back from CGC. A tough book with a beautiful Hawkman cover by Shelly (although CGC credits the cover to Joe Kubert on the label?). This is a very nice looking copy, and the second highest graded, just behind the Mile High copy. — Rick
  10. Great books Andrew. Hope your dad feels better soon. I've always loved Ducks books and finally picked up one a while back. That's one down and hundreds to go... — Rick
  11. Nice 27. Glad to see you found one. It's one of my favorite Fight covers. Very pretty book!!! — Rick
  12. Great looking book. I've always liked the look on the Nazi's faces as they see Superman swimming towards the sub!
  13. Me likey. Only 1 copy in the census. Here's an old pal of your #12... Those are both tough books.... Tough books to find and very pretty to look at. I don't think I've ever seen a #12. — Rick
  14. Thanks, Billy. Yeah. The pages are really nice on this book. According the Chris, the books were stored in a bedroom closet for years and years. He said that the son of the guy who bought them just walked into his store and asked if he was interested in buying them. I think he said that the guy had died and he was moving his mom to assisted living and needed to get rid of them. — Rick
  15. I also got this at today's show. All in all, it was a very good comic book day. — Rick
  16. Picked this cool book up today at the Charlotte Mini Con which is put on by our own Capt_Comics. Great show, Rick. (thumbs u This book is part of an original owner collection that Chris Foss just picked up. The books are not high grade, but most have very pretty OW/W or better pages.I'm not sure if I've ever seen a nicer copy of this book! There is a piece of tape on the top left corner, but it doesn't look like the cover is split. Here is the cool splash page. — Rick
  17. Aren't you glad that someone didn't "cut out and frame" that back cover. I'll bet there were quite a few back covers of Batman #1 on kids walls back in the day. BTW, very nice book. — Rick
