  1. I need to shop where you shop! I do too! You probably do.
  2. Thanks guys. I bought this as a "raw" VG+ a while back. Needless to say, I'm thrilled. I thought it was better than the advertised grade, but didn't think it would go from 4.5 to 8.0. — Rick
  3. I just got this beauty in. Just a great Schomburg Nazi cover!
  4. That's a beautiful book. Great pickup! — Rick
  5. I knew someone here was going to grab that book, very nice Mr. Bill. So cool! (thumbs u — Rick
  6. Cool page!!! You just gotta luv Golden Age art. Congrats!! — Rick
  7. I saw this beauty listed on CLink, but really didn't give it much thought based on the ask price, and on rejections on several recent offers I made for other books that were above what I would call FMV. It's sweet!! Congrats!! ... (P.S. .... I'm very jealous) That is just a stunning book, David. (thumbs u — Rick
  8. All great covers! HT #9 BTW, I just realized that I bought all of these books raw (4 of them from the same person) and had them all slabbed. That was fun! I thought the Subby should get a higher grade than it did. I didn't have it pressed, and maybe it would have graded higher had I done that ( ). I actually traded a bunch of comics for the HT. The guy I bought it from said that he had shown it to Steve Borock and he had said that it was the best he had ever seen. Turns out, he was probably right. The Plastic Man was also part of that deal. It's the second highest graded. I think the dealer was kind of sorry he let them go after I told him what they graded out at. I got the Zip from the same dealer. It was "low grade" and actually had tape on the top of the spine. I sent it to Matt Nelson and he removed it and pressed it. He told me that he didn't think doing either would help the grade, but it just looks a lot nicer without the tape. I thought the Action would get a higher grade, but it presents well for the grade. I knew the Mystic was low grade, but have always loved that book, so I went for it. Just caus' everybody wanted to know. (thumbs u — Rick
  9. Thanks. It's just so much fun collecting these books!!!!!
  10. Thanks guys. I just love Golden Age books! Here's another photo I took last night of some of my favs.
  11. I was putting away some comics ronight and decided to do a couple of quick group shots. Here's a neat little progression (CGC 4-9) of yellow covers. I've posted these before over the years, but never in a group shot.
  12. Just got this book in. Low grade, but still pretty. I love "low-grade" books that look this nice. Here's a couple of spreads from the inside... Cool ad for Cap #16 All in all, pretty happy with this one. — Rick (Now, if only I could find a Pep #34 )
  13. The pic may be krappy, but the books are awesome Early FF's are soooo cool. Great group shot.
  14. My "new" Zip #22... I've had this book for a while, but finally decided to send it in for grading. Not high grade, but still a very pretty 5.0, I think. Believe it or not, it's the second highest graded copy, just a step down from the freakish 9.8 copy. — Rick
  15. That is a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL book!!!! WOW! Congrats on that one, sir!!!!!! — Rick
  16. Permission granted (thumbs u Very nice!!! I've always liked that MMC. — Rick
  17. It has a small erasure on the front cover that lifted some color. Still, really nice.
  18. especially this one!!! — Rick Thanks. It went really cheap in the last Heritage auction. There is a 9.2 coming up in May. I saw that. So far, I'm tracking over 50 books in that auction, with over two weeks before it even starts. Looks like another blockbuster auction for HA. BTW, that Superman looks very nice. 8.0??
