    Holy Krap...$260 for a 9.6 Joe #21 , over $100 for a copy of #24 in 9.6, $61.00 for a copy of #23 in 9.6 Unreal prices for junk 80's comics. tongue.gif

    Didn't you leave?

I went to another forum and Deathlok was there too! Hes the reason why I left (that and the incessant trolling and questioning of my gender.) As long as he stays away from me Ill be fine.

So why pretend to be a girl?

Are you going to the Orlando show by chance?

  4. With the 3D 2D - yes, there's only one confirmed but I know another was sold on ebay back in 2002. Or may be I imagined it!

I've spoken with him before about the eBay sale. However, since it was awhile back and there are no records of it, it must go under as 'non-confirmed'.

I now have a 'Charlie & The Chocolate Factory' type vision on everyone buying up 3Ds to see if there the 2D version!!! Who has the golden ticket!

27_laughing.gif That was me at the baltimore Comic Con - going thru every delaer box and pulling all the 3D's and opening them up. 27_laughing.gif

Can you tell me about this 2D issue? Very interested in hearing the story behind it.

  5. It shocked me when they killed off General Flagg, scarface, Kwinn, and Dr Venom all in ONE issue. I thought they offed the Baroness but she survived. Amazing read for those who havent read the saga...issues 11-19.

Those were a great set of issues, and the run stayed strong up to about 33 or so, too. 42-50 were a good read as well. I recently completed my run from 1-78 and once I get all my stuff unpacked from a recent move, I'm going to read them all, one per night.

I love GI Joe. I still watch the cartoons on DVD. In the comic's heyday, there was no title that made you anticipate the next issue more. Even the kids in my neighborhood who didn't read comics in general, looked forward to the next issue of GI Joe. Who didn't camp out at the comic store for the origin of Snake-Eyes?

The stories were great about Zartan and how he killed the hard master. It got a bit silly when they made Serpentor though. They started to cave to Hasbros demands and just made crappy issues from there on out. It was a shame.

  6. I sold em twice. frown.gif I enjoyed collecting the figures more than the comics. I was the only girl on the block who would play with the boys and their Joes and Transformers. My favorites were from the 1984 set. Baroness,Blowtorch,Spirit,Zartan,StormShadow,Duke, etc.. I had some of them on the card and I sold them for good money 3 years ago. I want to buy a graded Storm Shadow one day! cloud9.gif

  7. Hi there fellow Joe fans. I was inspired by the gentlemen in this copper forum who started the Miracleman and Albedo threads to create a GI JoE thread. I enjoy the way they ACTUALLY converse about the books they love and not argue about everything wrong with the hobby. For some reason, outsiders stay away from these threads with their graemlim wars and their trolling. I know there are a lot of Joe collectors out there due to the fact they almost NEVER come up for sale in 9.8 and that it was the second most popular comic around (after the X-men) for a few years back in the 80's. Feel free to get it going... Ill start by saying #24 was the greatest issue ever (except maybe #19.) JC wherever you are...stay the 893censored-thumb.gif away.

  8. I think if a cgc 9.8 has 2 or 3 color breaking stress lines, then it was a mistake made by cgc when they graded it. Perhaps it got overlooked or more likely got mis-labeled. I've seen many label errors regarding publisher, volume #, date, etc, so why not a grade? I personally do not believe it could have been seen, and consiously given a 9.8 grade.

I couldnt agree with you more. 1, I can understand if the rest of the book is flawless, but 2 or 3....error.

  9. Assuming everything else about the book is perfect.

9.8 How many stress lines allowed and how long.

9.6 How many stress lines allowed """"""""""""""

9.4 How many stress lines allowed"""""""""""""""

    9.2 """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

    9.0""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""

Overstreet is not clear about this. thanks.

9.8 IF the rest of the book is flawless....maybe. It depends on how big the stress is and if its on a dark part of the comic.

9.6 Maybe 1 or 2 at the most as long as they are tiny and dont break color too badly.
