To ruin my own sanity... say there wasn't that big cut. What grade would that be
Without the tear through the book, I'd say 1.8 - 2.0. There is a lot of wear and some splitting along the spine with heavy creasing on the front cover. At best it would be in the good range (without the tear).

1.0 (definitely better than Poor)! Don't think pressing is going to help here. If you want it slabbed, send it in as is.
-
8.5 with a C&P. Nice book!
-
4.0 with a C&P.
-
7.0 as is. 8.0 with a good C&P (assuming you can get the dirt off).
-
Great looking book! The subscription crease doesn't appear to break color so you should be able to press that out. It looks like you have some moisture staining along the spine. With a good C&P I'd say 6.0. If no moisture staining maybe even 7.0. Thanks for sharing.

2.0 for me. Cant see it going any higher due to the popped staple, cover tear and general wear. Its a late Bronze Age book and I don't think they will be lenient.

I concur: 2.0

5.0±0.5 Staples look like they might be rusty
Bottom staple does have some rust.

I would guess a 6.0. I think that the bottom corners are the only issues holding this book back from a much higher grade. Don’t have much experience with GA books. Really really nice eye appeal though. Thanks for posting!

I understand your frustration. It’s not a science to be sure. Still, the consensus seems to be that you are likely to land between 7.0 - 8.0. I’m on the very low end of that scale other are on the high end. It’s part and parcel of this little game we are all playing. Of course we could all be wrong….🤣

6.0 for me too (with a C&P).
-
8.0. Great book!

Actually, I just noticed the crease at the bottom of the front cover so probably not a 7.5. Still a possible 6.5-7.0. Absolutely worth picking up for VG money. Congrats.

6.5 - 7.0 with a C&P. Lots of stress lines and possible watermark in the yellow about 3" above the barcode along the spine. C&P will help with the spine roll. In my experience, this is one of those books that gets graded very harshly by the folks at CGC.

I would say 7.0 - 7.5. Assuming you can get that corner pressed out nicely.
-
I would say 3.5 on this one. Thanks for posting.

A nice copy to be sure. I would guess between 7.0 -7.5 with a clean and press. Thanks for posting.

in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?

No rust migration to the interior pages. Thanks for the question.
