  1. He isn't banned. Furthermore, if a banned member's user id is still in the system, you can send them all the PMs you want... they just won't get answered. Finally, as far him telling everyone via e-mail that he has been banned, all I can say is, "From his lips to God's ears."
  2. He knew exactly what he was doing. Others are called out when it's noticed. Bio-Rupp was tarred and feathered not long ago for acting like he was selling PGX books. He should have received a strike for it as well.
  3. Interesting angle. I'd like to know that too. (thumbs u I went and pulled up his Sig Room thread. He states that he was in the Air Force from 1997-2005. I'm waiting to hear back from him. He's been reading the threads and I asked if I could post his email to me on here as it might explain a few things. Or not. Isn't it amazing what a mess a little dumbassery can create? I actually find it comical in a way. You couldn't -script this stuff for Hollywood. One lie started a bigger mess. Which is exactly the breakdown of the first fiasco. The dude clearly loves comic books, but i wouldn't trust him with a transaction involving a Snickers bar. How about a fun size? Come on Chris, that's pretty offensive. Sean may be short, but "fun size"? That is an awesome euphemism for short. "Fun-sized." I am going to use that. Baltimore Lauren coined the term first.
  4. What he does is he uses the impression other people have of him to his utmost advantage. He's very good at what he does.
  5. I believe the 30 day rule has been waived more when it has been made apparent there is not going to be a resolution as opposed to severity of the offense. For example, someone saying "screw you all, I am not going to make this good." Joey's resolution is an apology and admission of being wrong from Trey. Trey - you listening here? Trey: "Gee, I'm sorry. I promise not to do it again... at least until I get caught."
  6. And what great evil are we opening the door to by adding him the probation list as opposed to the hall of the shame? Well, for one thing, 30 days has apparently not elapsed but according to Joey only 10 days. We are supposed to allow 30 days for the two of them to come to an agreement or for restitution to occur. This leaves 20 days for the two of them to work something out. We let this in we may as well drop the 30 days and just start adding people the day after a problem occurs. My apologies - I just assumed, and since the sales thread had been deleted I had no idea when this took place. How is the thirty day rule even applicable when his violation is intentionally altering scans so he can sell a product that is expressly forbidden to be sold on the CGC message boards? Technically it is not because technically (governmentally speaking now), technically this is a Moderator issue and technically, not a PL issue. An HOS issue but not a PL issue. You're squirrel bait.

Looks a little bit like democracy Yeah, if it's one thing this message board is all about, it's democracy.

  10. Probably not, but Trey shouldn't have been selling PGX books and lying about it to begin with. It doesn't matter if Joey stuck the book up his arse when he received it. If nobody had purchased the book Trey would still be in the wrong for selling or attempting to sell PGX books. But someone did buy the book. and would have accepted it and not revealed it. That is not an "if" scenario but what actually happened. If this is all supposed to be in support of the community, how would Joey's taking the book and deslabbing it for his collection support the community? It was all a masterful plot to discredit Trey Cannon. You sleuthed him out. He would've gotten away with it if it hadn't been for you meddling kids. Oh, and the next time Trey has a sales thread, load your buggy up. Throw your support and the support of the community behind him. (thumbs u So you consider my proposal that what he did is not PL worthy but instead is HOS worthy to be throwing support to him? How do you figure that? Probation List or Hall of Shame, what difference does it make? Check whatever box makes you feel good and move on. My God, it's like talking to a government worker.

  13. (thumbs u If being stupid enough to buy a book from Trey is enough fodder to add me to the PL feel free to do so. I personally don't think either of you should be probated. You both knew it was a PGX book. Joey didn't know it was a PGX book until he opened the package. Trey knew it from the moment it was posted for sale. My opinion...and I'm sure I will get flack for it... Trey offered a book with a grade. It happened to be in a PGX holder but that was not necessarily apparent from the scans nor from his listing or description. Others determined it was PGX before the sale because the scan showed the inner well. I understand that selling PGX books is against the rules here on the boards. I have always held the opinion that a comic is a comic. The label is not the comic. In my mind, as long as the grading companies opinion is not used to sell the book then no harm. But according to rules Trey should have cracked it before listing it here. So be it, and I understand it. But I digress... Joey may or may not have seen the discussion of whether or not it was a PGX book but he bought it. He received it. He knew it was in a PGX holder when he received it. If he had an issue with the transaction then here is where he should have said something. But he did not make an issue of it. So at this point in the transaction there has been no issue with the fact that the book was sold in a PGX holder. That is very important as far as I'm concerned. Say it out loud...at this point in the transaction there is no issue with the PGX slab. So joey cracks it out of the PGX holder. It is now NOT A PGX BOOK. So the problems start after it is no longer in a PGX holder. The issues with Trey selling this comic book begin when the book is no longer a PGX book. The problem is not about grade. The problem is not about payment. The problem is not about service. And most importantly, the problem is not about PGX. The whole problem is a misunderstanding about feedback. Silliest mess I ever saw. At least that's how I see it. I disagree, but it makes for good TV.
  14. BS. He knows exactly what he's doing. Go to a convention and watch him operate his way through Artist's Alley.
  15. You are looking at the transaction from a completion point of view. Yes, the transaction was successfully completed. No, Joey did not return the book when he discovered it was in a PGX slab. Perhaps he is slow and needs to be cut some slack. Does this invalidate the fact that the book should have never been listed for sale on the boards to begin with? No. I would agree to Trey being listed in the Hall of Shame.
  16. Assuming he didn't know (and I see some people "thinking that" he did know), he certainly knew when he opened the package. It does not sound like he was going to say anything about it until the whole feedback mess came up. I agree. That's why I said from the beginning that Trey knowingly manipulated scans to hide the fact the book he was selling on the CGC message boards was in a PGX slab. Who bought it is irrelevant. I don't feel Joey was damaged by the sale. However, I don't think Trey should be allowed to continue to conduct business at will on the boards as if nothing has happened. This isn't the first time he has stumbled in the selling arena. Should we wait until he tries to scam a newer member out of a sizable amount of cash?
  17. Do you own a whitewash manufacturing company? Do you sell fertilizer? I say we merge and hit the farm lands of America. No thank you.

  20. I heard he was a lawyer. I'm still waiting to get sued. Bring it Buffalo Bob. Buffalo Bill.
  21. He had two scans of the book, front and back, I believe. The scans showed a graded (slabbed) book but were cropped so one could not read the label. When asked about the book being PGX, he avoided answering and told people if they weren't interested in purchasing the book then move along.
  22. Trey should either be placed on the probation list or given a suspension for selling a PGX book. Anything after that is moot. I agree with moderator action being the remedy for selling a PGX book outside the clearly stated rules of the forum. However, that's a mod action not a mob action. (see what I did there?) Anyway... As for probation list, there must be another reason aside from it simply being a PGX book. Something like overtly lying about the book, or refusing a refund of the book if returned in the same condition sent, or something else I may have missed during Friday Night Drama-Con 2011. If the beef was just for being a PGX book then it could have been remedied as soon as the buyer saw that it was a PGX book, if indeed, that was the reason for the angst. It doesn't seem like the fact that the book was PGX is the reason we are still talking about this. If that's true, then we need to stop talking about the fact that the book was PGX and let the moderators handle that transgression in the established and appropriate way Then we can get down to the actual, factual and clearly enumerated reasons why or why not the probation list is the proper place for this seller based on the details of this transaction. Right now it feels like everyone is talking about PGX and only PGX and, based on what I am seeing, it's clouding and distracting from figuring out what (if any) actual probation list transgressions may have occurred. He lied about the book being a PGX book. Joey could have returned the book, but chose not make an issue out of it, as he has a childhood fondness for the book, until he was pressed for positive feedback.
  23. He's not even on the list yet and we're discussing how he can get removed ?
