  1. My 2c on this.

Trey sold a PGX book without revealing it.

Joey bought the book and received it in the slab.

Joey decided to remove the book from the slab to "enjoy at some future time".

After the subsequent issues regarding feedback etc already outlined, nominations for the PL begin. Trey nominates Joey and Joey nominates Trey.

Had Joey NOT taken the book out of the slab, had he returned it for a refund on the basis it was a PGX book THAT would be a valid case. But he accepted the book and unslabbed it for his own use.

Both sides here have some culpability.

This may be best served by Arch making a decision for strike(s) if he deems so.

Trey should either be placed on the probation list or given a suspension for selling a PGX book. Anything after that is moot.

If it's a PL offense, what's he supposed to do to get himself off? (Innuendo intended :) )

I guess the same as other offenders who are on the list and are no longer able to get themselves off.

  3. I changed my mind. Seeing he had no problem posting the transaction PM everywhere and the mods seem reluctant to remove them I nominate Trey for selling PGX slabs on the CGC boards. Breaking rule #1 and being a repeat offender.

Most of the mods are drunk by this hour on a Friday night.

  4. The link that was provided is dead. What's the back story here?

Is the complaint that it was a PGX slab and was not disclosed prior to sale?

    In a simplified nutshell, yes.

But it got cracked out anyway?

Joey cracked it out and put it in a Mylar. The manure hit the fan when Trey began pandering for positive feedback. Not only did Trey not receive positive feedback, the offending transaction was laid bare in the original, and now deleted, selling thread.

  5. With all the tire kicking going on in this thread, a copy will surface sooner than later.

yep. just like GI JOE 21 and ASM 301, now they're everywhere.

And those two polybagged UXM in the late 290s.

    I have to disagree here.

The UXM books had pressable defects.

GI Joe 21 did not have an issue with defects in the print run.

ASM 301 is pretty much the same as GI Joe 21.

This is a book manufactured with enough damage that none so far have gotten the 9.8 designation. Thats pretty rare for a book from this time period.

    :censored:

Trust me, I have reason to find a nice copy. I have a friend that needs one. What is funny, is I had dozens of copies at one time and never took the time to even care about the book. It's wasn't on my radar then.

    Worldsbestcomics needs one as well.

    I have 2 friends then.

    Really? Who?

  7. The entire print run was like this. It's also not the only book printed this way. There may be a small handful that don't have these tears, but it's not likely.

How does that even happen where the ENTIRE print run has that exact same defect of a few rips in the corner?

What was the print run for that book? I don't know a heck of a lot about printing but that just strikes me as a odd defect for the entire print run to have ???

There have been issues found without the printing defect, but their condition prevented 9.8 grading for other reasons.

  8. Production defect. Ask anyone who collects Wolverine runs know how hard it is to find. I have been looking for years for a friend and cannot find a copy that comes close to 9.6, let alone 9.8.

Is that the one that Worldsbestcomics is missing? If so, there have been a lot of people looking for one for a while! lol

Yes, there are two to three tears on the lower left hand corner along the spine. If someone can produce a 9.8 copy, it will go for hundreds if not more.
