  1. Could you see the grades on the website? Did they tell you on the phone? Or could you just tell from the website that they passed a pre-screen? I submitted the books under Metropolis's account. They were able to look up the invoices to see the grades on the ones that were completed. So the books had been shipped? None of them are shipped yet. On a hunch, I called Metro and asked them to look up the invoice numbers. Who called and got the grades?
  2. I know. My comment was to him but quoted you, cause you give the warm fuzzies. No I don't. Somehow your Velcro must have gotten hot.

  4. It's not. That's the point. Stupid-on-Tilt offered it up as an example to your, albeit facetious, query "please name me another business where the actual product has suffered so much and people just line up for more."
  5. Really? That's your takeaway? They're not good at communicating? Ok. Never mind then. What else would it be? That CGC changes things just to *spoon* with their customers? That they're a monopoly, know it and don't care what anyone thinks? I'm sorry, but I just don't believe that. You and I will have to disagree then. Whether they care or not, they act like they don't care. But I don't need them to. On the one hand, people expect CGC to be treated with more deference and forgiveness because it's our hobby and hey, we're all in this together. On the other hand, please name me another business where the actual product has suffered so much and people just line up for more. Prices have gone up. Quality is variable. Service has gone down. Communication is terrible. The ONLY reason they continue to enjoy the success that they do is b/c of their monopoly status. eBay Please. eBay is a shadow of what it used to be. eBay is not even remotely similar to what it used to be. Yeah, and don't see people just lining up for more eBay on their plate either.

  7. All these reholders are slowing down the slabbing process!
  8. I didn't realize CGC changed the three grader approach. I guess that is one way to spread out the work. Yeah, but if the two graders disagree on the grade, who's going to break the tie? They will have to do "Rock, paper, scissors, lizard, Spock."
  9. Furthermore, I would want twelve "professionals" evaluating my books. If twelve was good enough for Jesus, then it's good enough for me.
  10. Didn't it used to be 3 graders? It dropped to two a few months ago.
  11. My question would be what is the definition of professional in regards to the people doing the inspecting.
  12. My God, you're as thick as two short planks...
  13. I wouldn't expect any movement until Matt arrives in Sarasota and has time to settle in.
  14. Given the types of books you submit it really doesn't matter.
  15. I'm sure you're mistaken. Just like I'm mistaken that my SS book which was pressed before it was signed, signed, dropped off at CGC during the show, picked up from CGC in Florida, pressed again, hand carried back to CGC in Florida, and now sits in a 9.6 holder with a lower back cover left hand non-color breaking crease wasn't the fault of the CGC. I guess myself and two other collectors missed it and two pressings weren't strong enough to flatten it out.
  16. I would ask him why he trys so hard to be like me I believe you have that one reversed.
  17. If collectors keep sending in books and just keep paying the additional fees to have their books back faster CGC is never going to do anything to eliminate the backlog. Just my opinion!
  18. What are your plans now that you didn't win Comic Book of 2012 and what became of your acceptance speach?
  19. Ah, the Constipated Wildcat cover. It fits you like a glove.
