I picked up this great pin-up, initially published in issue 2 of Fem Fantastique.

For most GA books I'd be fine with a detached cover as long as it's priced accordingly and presents well. There's a couple of runs like the All-Americans where my overall collecting goal is to have a blue label, complete/attached, mid to high grade copy of each book. In those cases I'd only grab the detached copy if it was an incredible deal with the goal of eventually upgrading.

Nice haul. I really like that Liberty Comics 10 cover. I sent my copy off to be graded a little while ago, but it seems likely I'll look older than that ghoul by the time it comes back .

Moved into GEI today.

I wonder if this means we'll start seeing bigger books in the weekly/event auctions.

I picked up a nice little bundle of Marvel Zombies 5 interior pages recently. Here are some of my favorite pieces. Being a Western fan and a zombie fan, I really couldn't ask for a cooler representation of the many marvel western characters in issue 1: Issue 2 is a fairly disturbing version of War of the Worlds: Issue 3 has a very fun Army of Darkness vibe:

The shipping turn around time from Gerber has usually been pretty good for me. I just ordered some mylites2, a few CGC boxes, and tape from them back on 4/21 that arrived late last week. My problem has been fullbacks. They weren't taking orders back in April and said I should check back in May. Called today and it seems the supplier is still behind and the soonest I should check back is the end of June .

It would take 450 business days to have an economy-tier comic go through CCS and CGC. There isn't money to expand that operation, but there is money to open another wing? I might be out of my depth, but is there a demand for graded VHS? Does somebody at CGC need to open and play the movie to ensure it's not somebody's shrink-wrapped home movie and that it plays without issues? That's my main problem with graded video games and VHS. If I crack open a CGC comic, I'll still be able to read the comic, but no telling if a graded video game or VHS still works if cracked out.

Interesting that CGC's article says this copy is tied with one other 8.0, but according to the census, one of the 8.0s was replaced by an 8.5 within the last few months (between 12/18/21 and 2/8/22 to be specific). I wonder how much the 8.5 copy would go for, or if the Church premium would still have the two books neck and neck (assuming the Church isn't now the 8.5).

Easily my favorite cover from the Men of War AAs. I might even go as far as my favorite war cover period.

I'm excited about the possibility of any new Gold Key comics; my favorite is Turok. With the buzz around the new Twilight Zone show, I can see that being a possible target as well. With how popular collected editions have become in recent years, I can see them surviving primarily on collected editions of the original material until they get something new rolling.

Incredible write up. Certainly this story is more compelling than Heritage's version. I can see why the family might want anonymity, despite Bob's efforts to publicize his cause: They might have received/are receiving a large sum of money for the collection, and many people would want to keep that information private. Maybe the surviving family feels a little guilt about selling the collection. Bob dedicated his life to the belief that he would see his brother again, which is in a small way represented by his preservation of Roger's comic books. Selling that collection now that Bob's gone is almost like giving up on everything Bob spent his life believing. I'm not saying I see it that way, personally, but I can easily see how Bob's family might see it that way, considering how important this was to him. I do believe the family requested this anonymity, and that it should be respected, if this is the real story. I can't see Heritage NOT wanting to capitalize on the historical significance voluntarily otherwise.

I agree. My understanding is that CGC has started using slightly looser fitting inner wells to reduce/eliminate newton rings, which is in part causing this scuffing. I've also noticed on many of my more recently graded books, including this promise book, the perceptible tapping noise from the inner well moving around as the case rotates is worse than before. Since the book is irreplaceable, it makes me feel even more apprehensive about mailing it in for a re-holder, having it sit around for ~5-6 months, then it's revealed that a bad shake along the way has blunted a corner or something. It might be an unpopular opinion, but I would rather have the newton rings if it meant less scuff and tighter fitting inner wells.

Big purchase for me. I couldn't be happier to add it to my All-American collection. My crummy picture and even Heritage's scans don't do the book justice when holding it in person. The scuffing throughout the inner well was the only thing that sucked a little bit of joy out of the unboxing. It seems like this is standard CGC practice now. In particular, I wish it didn't look like a certain kind of unsavory stain across Alan Scott's crotch. I'm tempted to re-holder the book, but paying $50 and tying the book up at CGC for the next ~5-6 months sounds like a bummer. Close up of the most egregious scuffing:

Hello all, I'm looking to add some original art to my collection. Specifically, I am interested in any Resident Evil original pages from any series, preferably original pencils and inks. Still, I'd also be interested in the individual pencil/ink on blueline pages for a reasonable price. I am also looking for some pages from a short, seemingly unpublished work by Sal Trapani and Chic Stone called The Winged Terror. The original 8 pages sold together a few years ago on Heritage. I've since picked up half of the pages and would like to continue filling out the story. I bought a nice little stack of raw books from Jimbo. They arrived quickly and exactly as described/pictured. Would happily do business with Jimbo again.

I have a few sketches, prints, and pages with just pencils, but I'm really happy to add my first pencils + inks piece to my collection. This is the first page from Resident Evil Fire and Ice. PS: if anyone has any other original RE pages from any run to which they aren't attached, please take my money.
