@Habby2324 or @PaulS. Does the Reholder option always include a brand new label being put in the holder?

I ask because I'm OCD and would like all my older cards that still have the solid blue CGC label to be given the newer label that fades to white and is on glossier paper. Can I submit my older slabs under the Reholder option to get the new label without having to worry about the grades changing?

    Hello,

The Reholder option typically does not get a new label. The original label is placed in a new holder. There are cases where a Reholder is requested and a new label is needed to be printed like the cert# is not pulling properly in our system, for example. If you wish for a new label with a Reholder you will need to ask our Customer Service team if/how that can happen.

prior to the new submission form there was a section to regrade an already graded cgc slab while putting in a minimum grade to avoid your card getting a lower grade then what it currently is however this new submission form does not show an option to do this unless your graded card is in a psa or bgs slab so my question is, is there no way of regrading a cgc slab while opting in for a minimum grade?

Hello, CGC Trading Cards offers a Crossover for cards encapsulated in a Beckett and/or PSA holder. Or we offer a ReHolder option, where a CGC Trading Cards graded card will maintain its grade but be replaced in a new holder. However, we do not offer a Screening option for Trading Cards.

didn't get a packaging slip in the box so how do I send you the comics now?

    Hello,

I am unsure what you are asking? Did you receive a Shipping Kit and now you need to submit using it? We do not provide shipping labels if that is what you are expecting. You can ship your comics to us using your preferred shipping method (USPS, UPS, FEDEX, etc.) but we do not provide those shipping labels. Hope this helps.

    Hello,

Does CGC have any future plans to grade and certify Marvel Trading Cards and other comic book character trading cards?  Thank you.

    Hello!

Thank you for the message. At this time we do not have plans to add Marvel or other comic trading cards -- but hopefully in the future. Be sure to follow us on our social channels to stay up to date with all of our announcements!

    Have a great day!

I would like to know how the max value per item works.  I submitted 20 books to CGC a few months back and some of those would be worth over $400 if graded 9.8.  However, the value of several of those were below $400 at the time of submission.  So, is the value based on when CGC receives it or once it is graded?  Also, it really is an estimation of value before submission, as a novice collector may not know if the grade of the raw comic is a 9.4 or 9.8.

I am a bit concerned that some of my books that only cost around $20 to submit back in April now could cost $75 each for grading.

    Hello,

Thanks for your question. The value is for the book the way you submit them to us. So if the books are raw, then the raw value is what you would use to determine your value/grading tier. I hope this helps clear this up for you.

    Thank you,

My name is Wesley. For nearly 13 years, I’ve been (semi-)happily employed in the two public libraries in Western Kentucky. I was an avid collector of Marvel in the 90s. That said, I did dip into DC, Image, and Valiant now-and-then. I attended my first comic convention – Wizard World Chicago – in the early 00s. A few more followed; however, due to the focus moving towards movies/tv more than comics, I stepped away from that scene. The inflating cost of gas and admission played into that as well.

I stopped collecting comics for quite some time. It was the excellent graphic novel collection at my current library that inspired me to get back into it; however, I admit I read more from the library than buy. Though I still have a deep love for mainstream superhero books, indies catch my interest quite a bit.

My father recently passed away. Prior to this event, my mother often told me I should grab my old long boxes to see if I had anything of value. I grabbed the two she referenced and began sorting through them and the one I have at my current abode. Within a few minutes, I’d pulled out a crisp copy of Ultimate Fallout #4. More treasure followed. This began my journey to becoming a CGC member.

What an incredible story and I'm sorry for your less.

So I just recently got my submission back and I thought my credit card was supposed to be charged automatically when my submission reaches a certain status. I got the invoice paper with my package is that the only way to make the payment or can I do it online?

    Hello,

If you received your cards back your card that was on file was charged. The paper is your receipt.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

So currently the turn around time for CCS pressing is 183 days. TAT for CGC grading is at 111 days.

If you submit to get a pressing done at CCS you obviously have to wait the 183 business days, but after it's done pressing do you also have to wait the 111 days for grading? Or do you get bumped up to get graded with the orders around the time CGC received your package?

    Hello,

Unfortunately, you do not get to move up the grading line if you have had your books pressed first. You could select a faster grading tier to receive your books back faster. I hope this helps.

Newbie here. I know in the list of new member benefits mentions a free shipping kit and credit. I'm unsure how to redeem these, though. Would appreciate a gentle nudge in the right direction. Thanks!

Hello and welcome! In your first new membership email you should receive a redemption code for the value of a shipping kit. Did you see that in your welcome email?

how do you apply the $150 to youre account or is it added auto based on you're submissions

    Hello,

The credit is automatically applied to your account and will be applied to all grading fees. This credit does not cover CCS services, shipping, or other non-grading fees. Once you submit your first order, the credit is automatically applied to every order until it is all used.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

    Couple questions,

#1 My Standard tier order has been in Grading Encapsulating and Imaging status for at least 2 weeks now. Was curious what the typical wait time post payment was till a standard tier is completed and shipped back. (by my count its workday #80 since the package was delivered and 15 days since the box was opened)

#2 I read each card is reviewed by a team. (thumbsu How many people view and grade each card?

Hello, we do not have a page on our CGC Trading Cards website yet that explains the details of the grading process but we do have it on our CSG site. And they share the same process. The webpage is a great resource to know all of the steps that are taken at CGC Trading Cards. https://www.csgcards.com/card-grading/grading-process/

I hope you find this helpful.

Just curious, do i place an order for the Roy Thomas Remarque and then click signature in the lower right hand corner in order to get both the sig and the remarque?

    Thank you

    Hello,

You would select "Roy Thomas - Remarque" and that order will come with his Remarque and his signature.

    Hi there,

My bulk order, 80 cards (CGC0285315778) that was received 2/10 was broken into 2 submissions because of some cards (16) having subgrades. the message was "adds an extra 5 days to grading" or the like.

Last tuesday my 16 sub graded cards were shipped back and I received them Saturday, but the rest (64 cards) of my order is still in the "Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging" stage? I'm a bit concerned about the rest of my order not moving and there being a delay, and 2 separate shipments. is this normal? any idea when I can expect the rest of my order returned? many thanks!

    Hello,

You should see some movement with the rest of your order very soon. I would give it a few more days and if you do not see any changes you can ask our customer service team to look into it. service@cgccards.com

We ship cards as soon as they are completed, so since the smaller batch was done first we sent those right away so they did not sit in our vault.

    July 13th -

Chased customer service and accounting again - Email from Justin saying he has CC'd in account to reply - again no response

    July 23rd

I email accounting and customer service for an update as i still have heard nothing since May 20th - another response saying account cc'd in - again no response.

Issue on statement is order 3824668 has a fee for sub-grades applied when i submitted it without sub-grades. I have provided photos of the packing slip and confirmation email showing this.

Can i please get an updated account showing i will not get charged for sub-grades.

    Hi Nathan,

I am terribly sorry that there have been so many issues with getting a response from our accounting team. I have sent a message to Jose directly to see if I can get this escalated. Please email me directly if you do not hear back today. ashley@cgccomics.com

I will make sure this is handled.

    Again, so sorry for this.

I have a question regarding values and what to put on the form when you are submitting a comic for grading to CGC.

What value should I go with? For example, I have an Amazing Spiderman 238.  According to Overstreet, the value of the comic (without the tatooz) at Very Fine is $34.00. On ebay, copies with the tatooz ranges from $300 to 500.  What value what I submit with? The $34 which would qualify for Modern pricing or $500 which would quality for Standard pricing.

    Am I overthinking this?

Hello, when determining what value your collectible is, it is best to use Fair Market Value. So the eBay price would be the way to go. Another way to think about it is, if you were to need to replace that comic book what would it cost you to buy it again. The different CGC grading tiers are essentially insurance packages. Our verifiers will also review the comic book when it comes in and if they feel the value you selected was too low, they will send you a note to tell you that we need to move it to a higher value tier. We do this to protect your collectibles. I hope this helps clarify this some.

I've spoken with a couple people on the phone earlier this week about one of my Express orders. They confirmed that they were graded, charged my card, and would be shipped out this week, as they have been sitting in the 'safe' for a almost a month now. I still have not recieved any confirmation on shipping, or any updates on my Express order from 6/16/21.

Hi Adam, did this get resolved? I apologize for the late reply. Please DM me if there are still issues receiving your package.

    I had a standard order 56 cards

    Delivered: 4/16/21

    Received: 7/13/21

    Grading/encapsulation: 7/14/21

I didn’t know to write ST on the box at the time I shipped it which is why it was received so much later. From what I’ve seen 5 days is around the time orders are graded then shipped but mine has been 8 business days in grading now. Is there something holding it up or is it just taking that long? I was thinking my order would be fast tracked out because it’s well past the standard quote time but maybe I was just thinking too optimistically.

    Thanks,

Hello, It is most likely because we have an increase in our submissions right now. But you could contact customer service to make sure there is not issues with processing payment. They can be reached at service@cgccards.com

I'm currently getting ready to send in my first submission, I read that there are books that get graded as "magazines" due to the size of the book. Everything I'm sending in will be modern books but some are thicker square bound books. Venom #200 for example is thicker than a normal book. Do books like that need to be magazine tier or is the modern tier okay? They are the same height and width as stapled books only thicker.

Hi there, it really depends on the actual thickness. Our comic book holders will hold up to .25" in thickness and our magazine holder can encase .5". If for some reason a book is submitted as a comic book and needs to be moved to the magazine holder to fit, our comic team will notify you that it needs to jump to that tier. You can also find the dimensions that fit our holders here: https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/collectibles-we-grade/

I see that there is a drop off at the CSG academy and it still gives me that option as of today but when I look up CSG academy I see it was on June 26-27th is there still a drop off at the CSG academy or should that drop off not be on there?

Hi there, thank you for letting us know -- that should not still be available and I have asked our team to make sure it is removed. Thank you and sorry for the confusion. :)

I’m pretty sure I’ll have moved by the time my comics are graded and ready to be shipped back.  How do I go about changing the shipping address and what would be the cut off time to make the change?

    Hello,

You should be able to update your account information when you log in to account on the CGCcomics.com website. After updating your shipping/billing address I would then send an email to customer service at service@cgccomics.com to let them know you did so and you want to make sure they see it on their end. I would do this as soon as you are able.
