    CGC,

Are there any plans to grade Shonen Jump?  the Japanese Manga magazine?  It is a thicker book.  The dimensions are the same as comic book with the exception being the thickness, which is 1 inch.  is that too thick for grading?  Thanks

    Jason

Hi there! At this time we cannot grade most Manga magazines as they are too think for our holders. 1" is too thick even for our largest holder. Thank you.

Not trying to put a rush on anything, but with walkthrough when I sent it it was a 5 day TAT I was received last week Friday and scheduled for grading this week, is there a way to find out of that's ongoing I don't know how rapidly the walkthrough process occurs haha. My first submission ever, just looking for someone to hold my hand and say everything is going fine. Even if it's done next week not a huge deal, just a noob.

You should see an update very soon! WalkThrough's even now are only at 6 days. So depending on the day it was received it should be close to completion.

I would like to send in a single book for the Shooter signing and thought it silly to send alone. Do I need to separate the submissions if I want 9 other modern books just to be graded?

    Thanks

Hi there! You can submit them all together in one box, but please make sure the packing slips are separate (two separate orders). Also, make sure you initial your outside of the shipping box with JS. - Thanks!

  4. Attention comic fans! CGC will be hosting legendary comic book writer, publisher and editor, Jim Shooter, for another extraordinary In-House Private Signing! The submission cut-off date is Saturday, May 15. So get your comic books ready because, in addition to his signature, Shooter will also be offering Remarques!

I had a few key Fantastic Four comics graded almost a year ago. At the time, CGC did not have a Fantastic Four label available (or, if they did I missed it). I just sent in another few key FF comics that are in the same numeric series as the earlier ones. I decided to get the FF labels on them. Is there any way to have the earlier ones relabeled in order for them to match the ones that I just sent in?

Hello! Yes, you can resubmit your first set of FF comics as a Reholder and add the custom label option at the end of the submission process. The comics would not be regraded but Reholdered with the new FF labels. I hope this helps. Thanks!

How does this credit get applied? When I go to checkout there's no place to show it.

Hi there, Our online system does not have a way of showing credits but if you have credit available it will be applied to your grading fees once your package is received from our CGC team.

    Thank you!

  7. Hello, you can change your handle name in your account settings. Go to CGCcomics.com and then login or click on the person icon on the top right corner. Then go to Account Info and you will see your handle name listed with the option to edit it.

  8. Hi there,  We were also sad that we could not get all the books signed while Kevin was in town. I recommend reaching out to our Signature Series team and they can look up your order. And if you find that your books did not make the initial in-house signing, they can assist you with canceling your signing order if that's what you're most comfortable with.

  9. Hi there!

You can submit your Walkthrough and traditional grading submissions in one box but you will need to have two different orders/packing slip. For instance, you will need one order/packing slip for Walkthrough and one for the traditional grading. Also, while on the online form you should be able to select your preferred return shipping for each order, so they can be different return addresses for you Walkthrough and traditional grading submissions.

The cards that were graded by MAP will not crossover. We can crack them and grade them as a raw card if you prefer.

    Hope this helped.

  11. Hi there, this is an interesting idea. However, we have to consider what happens to all of the books already out in the wild with NG that are sketch covers. Changes like this can often have a much larger long-tail operations process, but I will pass this idea along to the team. We appreciate your thoughts on this! Thanks!

  12. Hello, our Quality Control team reviews all slabs before they get shipped out, but in the event that a slab is damaged upon delivery you can contact our customer service team about getting it sent in for a Reholder. As long as the book was not compromised with the damage the grade should stay the same. Hope this helps answer your question.

I have a submission that has been waiting to be picked up at the post office by CGC since the 13th (tracking # 9405509205568301393122). Now the status just changed to "Delivery Attempt: Action Needed" and says it will be returned to me if not picked up by the 27th. This is my first submission so I'm not very knowledgeable of the process. What do I do in this situation?

Hello, the post office is behind on getting all the mail to us, but you may want to call to verify that the package is getting delivered or has been delivered. We have found that their messaging is not always correct. Also, we have a post office located directly in our headquarters so when mail says it has been delivered it is with us awaiting the receiving team. Let us know if you need further info.

Hello! I am going to send 400 Pokemon cards from Norway to get graded in USA. The return shipment will be with FedEx, and i am wondering if i have to pay any VAT, Customs or duty when the product enters my country. The total grading cost was 4227$, (including shipping that was 730$) and i just don't have the money to pay 25% of that in VAT. Please answer :)

Hello! I wasn't sure how to answer this so I asked our International shipping guru and here is what he had to say (I hope it helps!):

"Any shipment over $2500 to the US is subjected to MPF fees (Merchandise Processing Fee) this is .3646% on the declared value US. I cant speak for his country. If it's anything like the UK, anything shipped back, and a service was done to it the package, it is subjected to Value added taxes and this is based on the fees paid. He would need to look into his VAT fees for Norway. Also, typically, this valued added taxes can be claimed back during tax session.

Our advise would be to consult with a logistics company that has a brokerage."

I have 5 printer proofs of the x-men and have no clue on how to go about valuing them. They are all different.

We recommend looking on Ebay for something similar to compare it to. GoCollect.com is another good resource or if there is a comic book shop near you that acts as a dealer, they may know as well. Good luck!

Wondering if there’s any places in Canada that grade cards most places I call there out of business I bought a plan but it’s misleading cause there are no places in Canada that grade

Correct, we grade at our headquarters in Sarasota, Florida. I know shipping fees can be tough but we do get people that send their collectibles to us from all over the world.

  17. CGC is thrilled to partner with SWAU to bring to all of you comic fans, an exclusive Private Signing with Kat Dennings! Hello, per the attached photo, I had this CGC all the way back in 2014 and, unfortunately I never noticed the label issue.   It's labeled with the Forever People second series from 1988 and not the Forever People from 1971.   I would expect out of goodwill you would help resolve this - original owner, valued customer.  Please advise what I should do next.

Yes, of course! Contact our customer service team so they can get you set up for a label replacement at no charge. service@cgccomics.com
    Terribly sorry that happened!

I made my first ever submission to CGC this January. It was 7 books... all modern... and included pressing. My status has said "recieved" since January 27th 2021. When can i expect my status to change? How long will i be waiting for them to return to me? I knew it was going to be a while, but i expected my status to at least have changed from "recieved" by now. Thanks for any info

Hi there, when books go through the pressing stage the status does not change on our system. So even when the book is getting pressed it will still say "received". The only time books change for standard grading is when it switches to "scheduled for grading," that final stage is the homestretch. Right now for a standard modern CCS pressing, we are currently 106 days out and 47 days out for standard modern grading. If you fast tracked your submission it is about half that time.

Great looking book with deep colors still on the cover, nice eye appeal. Nice book to add for someone just starting to buy older comics.

Batman #186 CGC graded 9.2 W pages: Asking for $500

Again another great looking book with eye appeal, just a classic cover. My father actually had a beat up copy from when he was a kid that I would read when I was younger, had to get nice graded copy once I got older. Really nice book.

Thank you all, and good luck! 😉

Please do not forget to address your return policy in your post. Thank you!
