This year I just want to read a lot of books.
I hope to buy very little this year. I'm still looking for an X-Men 141 CGC SS 9.8 Signed Stan Lee & Chris Claremont.
If I can only buy that book, and not others that I get distracted with... that would be awesome. That being said, probably not going to happen though.
Yes! I always have grand illusions that it's going to be a light purchasing year. Between the auction notifications, local cons, and these boards, there's too much exposure for me to ignore the buying compulsion. I like to think that I at least buy books that will go up in value. I would probably spend it on something else anyway...

nothing wrong with FF1, XM1, AV1, TOS39, JIM83 ---- no way they won't all move up from a purchase today to 5-10 years in future
BUT, I think AF#15 is the SA equivalent to AC#1 and will continue to be .....
of course my real answer would be ...but it doesn't address the original question....but I personally would blow that 15K on a really nice Spidey OA page, I think OA has a lot more growth potential
Can you get an early ASM OA page for less than 15k?
-
I would also consider ASM 1 as your dollar will stretch further. A better presenting mid grade copy is possible unlike IH1, FF1, or AF15. I’m not sure how prices have dropped on JIM83, XM1, or TOS39 but if you can buy a 3.5 or better within your budget, I would snap up a copy.
It’s boring but I would buy a Marvel SA key and reap the rewards in 10+ years.
PS: Spider-Man is king of the Silver Age
PPS: In terms of Bronze, buy multiple IH181s

I’ve also been enjoying Tulsa King.

Actually keep the books I add for my PC until the new year for once. I find once I get something I want, the thrill of the hunt is gone and I sell it off.
First time for everything….

Unless I sell some books this year, I think it’s going to be a light year (but I always say that).
I would like to buy an Avengers 1 VGish and FF 52 FVF ish.
I bought an FF 52 (thanks @kimik).
I didn’t buy an Avengers 1 but secured a Hulk 1 late this year after trading many good books. I still can’t believe it.
This year, I went crazy buying horror magazines and buying the odd ASM.
Perhaps this will be the year, I get the Avengers 1.

Only 2 episodes in but I am enjoying this. I find it is very detailed which I am appreciating.
What did you think of the animation?

They made a real effort with the science aspect of Sci-Fi. It feels plausible…

I was searching best of 2022 lists and stumbled across this show. I just finished binging it in less than a day (something I never do).I believe it’s already been renewed for Season 2.
Worth a watch…

Here's a group of books that I purchased during the last two weeks.
Fantastic Four #4 - CGC 3.0. I originally owned this book in CGC 2.0. I traded down to a CGC 1.5 plus cash. I then traded my CGC 1.5 plus cash to obtain FF #57 in CGC 9.4. I then purchased this book from an Instagram user.
I purchased this copy of TtA #41 CGC 6.5 from another IG user.
I purchased this raw copy of JiM #89 from a third IG user.
I purchased this raw copy of IH #5 from fellow board member, @rrichards.
And lastly, I purchased this copy of IH #6 CGC 2.0 from a fourth IG user.
I am now at over 70% toward my goal of owning the first ten issues of all the early Marvel SA books. I have completed Avengers #1 - #16, Daredevil #1 - #200, Fantastic Four #1 - #300, Amazing Spider-Man #1 - #400, X-Men #1 - #16, and Sgt. Fury #1 - #10.
Here are the books that I still need: Journey Into Mystery #84 - #88, #91 - #92; Tales to Astonish #36 - #40, Strange Tales #102, #106, #107, #109, Incredible Hulk #2 - #4, and Tales of Suspense #40 - #48. There are several pricy books left to purchase: JiM #84 and #85 plus ToS #40 and #45 plus IH #2 - #4. It may take a while to reach this goal, but I will get there eventually.

I got a ton of neat books this year and when time allows I'll take more group shots. But the collecting 'story' of this year was definitely rebuilding my Frazetta Famous Funnies run, and I appreciated all the support from you guys. I owned different copies of most of them years ago, but never all at the same time, and ended up selling each one off and somewhat regretting it. So one year later, here's 7 of the 8 issues... almost there! I thought the ship had sailed on ever owning some of these again in presentable condition, and it's honestly a bit surreal to see them all together, if you know what I mean. All are VG and lower but present well for their grades.
So I'm not usually a selfie guy, but this is kind of a fun story. I sold this FF #215 as a raw 2.5/3.0 to @piper some 5+ years ago, and again, kinda regretted it. But John's a great guy and I was happy to do it... I think it was one of the last issues he needed for his own FF run. He picked it up from me in person in NYC and our two families had fun hanging out. When I heard his FF run would be part of an epic trade to @MrBedrock last month, I asked Mr. B to give me first crack at buying it back and he kindly obliged. (Besides the spark of sentimental value, I always liked the colors on this copy... the background has these deep jade greens instead of the olive-greens-to-browns more common to this issue.) So if I'm not mistaken, the book traveled around NYC with us 5 years ago, went to Canada with him, then to Florida to be slabbed, back to Canada and stayed there for some years, then to Texas as part of piper's trade deal, and finally back to NY. Whew. Welcome home!I’m glad you got your old copy back!

I have the Omnis and the big Taschens. Not sure if I'll eventually replace the Omnibuses with Taschens or what. I guess it depends on how far Taschen takes these.
Is there any additional content not included in the Omnis?
-
For those who have the Taschen Books, would you get them if you already have the Omnibus? They are so large that I'm unsure where I could even store them.

I already found a couple others that I would bump some of the books I listed. Isn't it always like that?!
Yes, absolutely.
You have $15,000 to spend on one SA book. Which book and why?

Ok one more question. Where do you typically find your OA? I'd love a nice ASM page, but everything looks outrageously expensive.
