  1. But none were high grade unrestored... Yearh that's right! it was some cheap-*spoon* drek! Even though $5K is a lot of coin, I'm personally thrilled to know that early restored TECs can be found without spending my entire retirement savings.
  2. I agree, but I'm having a problem entering my bid of 3000.00 I just changed the listing to a STARTING BID of $99!!! No more excuses...GO FOR IT! GE great....I just bought Ciorac's 4.5....now I have to buy yours too If you'd just waited, you could have bought an early Tec instead.
  3. Kudos to Fastball Special for 3 x 25 cent Thors (and the bonus book). They were packaged well and accurately graded.
  4. Depends what you mean by "background mechanical devices' but Kirby machines surrounded by the strategically placed "crackle" are among the sweetest things from the Silver Age And talking about sweet things... The hunt is coming to a close, here are some of my recent ASM purchases Completing the series is now just two issues away ...#14 & #20 two issues and...... Champagne !! Congrats I just finished my ASM run (from #1 to the current issue) and I will probably upgrade a few of the books that I would like in a higher grade. I'm only collecting from #1 to #500....I gave up around #490, but decided to go up to #500, because it's such a nice round number If all goes well, I should complete the series by the end of the month Where did you pick-up your single digit books (e.g. ebay, board, LCS)? Do you have an AF15 yet? I have 14 to go including 1-10 and AF15. Best of luck!
  5. It will go nicely with the 11, I still have to pay someone for...
  6. Thanks to Buck Biggins for shipping some books even though there was a slight miscalculation with the freight costs to Canada. (We worked it out - I think) Highly recommended!
  7. Thanks! I try to make sure buying experiences are not aleatoric. (I don't know what it means either.) I'm embarrassed to admit that I had to look that up in my nearby Oxford... very appropriate.
  8. Thanks to Chris (ckb) for a well priced Spectre 3 & 5! Packaged like a Shermann Tank.
  9. It's funny, I say that grade doesn't matter for the ASMs in the 1-10 range, but I couldn't buy the ones offered in the marketplace. They were just yucky...
  10. Ed, I'd talk about my Phantom Stranger collection, but I'm not sure anyone would be all that interested... I'm going to have to do some reasearch (look at some back issues). My gut reaction would be Kirby. If ASM collectors are common, it means I'm in good company.
  11. Three pickups (2 silver and a bronze) I wish this forum was as active as the one for the golden oldies....
  12. Thanks go out to quality comix for some nicely graded ASMs (22, 23, 95, 129). He's a pleasure to do business with!
  13. Great pickup! I will be on the look out for a copy because I am an ASM completionist. (Low grade of course) Funny thing is that I always hated the Green Goblin storylines. I'd rather have a Kraven, Mysterio, Electro, or Doc Ock story any day of the week. Hmmm that reminds me, I need to pickup a copy of ASM Annual #1. For all of you completionists out there, do you have to have all of the annuals for it to considered a full run?
  14. Kudos to comicdey for some great ASM and Silver Surfer books. Who needs scans when you're dealing with Collin?
  15. Another post Christmas purchase... I just wished they wouldn't take 10 plus days to arrive from the US.
  16. Kudos to 143ksk for the sweet Spectre 1 and surprise Archie.
