  1. Very excited to get this one. I have another copy but it’s a low grade raw. Plan to keep that as my reader and get this one slabbed. Maybe one day I can get a copy of the GA Prize Group issue 1 in as nice a condition as this

What do you guys think this one might get and do you think I should get it pressed, as I’m always a bit wary about getting squarebound comics pressed.

    Thanks in advance

  2. Just got my hands on this very nice copy of Adventure Comics 283 (1st Zod and Phantom Zone).

I'll definitely be sending it in but I think i'm getting a bit too excited about the great condition it is in.

What grade do you kind folks think this one will get?

    Thanks in advance

Only sent my latest submission in to CGC May so apologies for the delay in updating.

Bit of a mixture of opinion on this one between a 2.0 and 4.0, I tempered my expectations and thought a 3.0 was realistic. Didn't get it C&P as it was already a bit fragile.

3.0 (Universal) Cream to Off-White Pages

    Grader's notes:

    multiple crease cover breaks color
    staining to cover
    tears to cover

Thanks for the input everyone (thumbsu

So apparently you're all bums and don't know what you're talking about (:

This one completely threw me as I was expecting around a 3.0/3.5 and hoping for a 4.0 at best.

    I got it C&P and the grade . . . .

6.0 (Universal) Off-White to White Pages :jawdrop:

    Grader's notes:

sticker residue front & back cover
top staple rusted & stains through book
    creasing to cover

Needless to say i'm delighted with the grade but it does leave me with a bit of a dilemma. My current copy is a 5.0 UK Price Variant but I still think it presents more nicely than this copy. Was planning on selling a copy but it looks like i'm going to end up keeping both copies

A few people got this one exactly right!

5.5 (Universal) Off-White to White Pages

    Grader's notes:

    price stamp
    creasing to cover
    spine stress lines to cover
    wear all corners of cover

    Also had this one C&P.

Majority were a little lower on this one but I think @1950's war comics hit the nail on the head and this one got a key bump.

4.0 (Universal) Off-White to White Pages

    Grader's notes:

    foxing interior cover
    price stamp
    creasing to cover
    spine stress lines to cover
    wear all corners of cover

    Was also C&P.

Pretty much everyone got this one spot on!

3.0 (Universal) Off White to White Pages

    Grader's notes:

    detached cover
    light staining to cover
    moderate creasing to cover

Didn't get this one C&P due to the detached cover.

This is a 2.0 at best. I'm out of step with everyone who's posted so far, I know, but nothing in my collection with similar defects grades higher than 2.0

I definitely prefer everyone else’s guesstimates so far

I appreciate the honest opinion though, especially as it’s in comparison to similar comics you’ve already had graded.

I was hoping for a minimum of 3.0 so will have to see how the graders feel when I send it in. I will update this thread when I do get it back.

  9. This book is my grail as the Surfer is my favourite character. I already have a copy but it's a UK Price Variant. I'm from the UK so I do like pence variants but i've been upgrading my other pence FF issues with surfer appearances.

My current copy is a 5.0 blue label OW/W.

Do you think this cents copy can get close to that grade?

    Thanks in advance
