  1. But there are not in the same universe. I like Silk long term, but she is not Harley. Silk is a play off of Spider-Man. Harley is a new character (for the most part). Harley is as much off Joker as Silk is off Spider-Man. If not more. Characters evolve.
  2. There were two editions of that variant. One was wraparound, sidewise. The other, more common one, had the same image, but in the normal framing, entirely on the front. I believe the "wavy lines" are glue streaks from the printing process. I don't know whether there's a way to get them off without damaging the book. Would love to, though!
  3. There was also a stand-ee for countertops, with the cover for #2 in 3D.
  4. Those and Fairest (and Tomb Raider...)...among some of the better, overlooked Hughes covers...
  5. In 60 however, they are called the Teen Titans as a group right on the first page. Doesn't happen in GCS. And in 60, Robin establishes that they formed the team after the events of BB54.
  6. Not grasping at straws here. Brave and the Bold 54 is the first Teen Titans. This despite the fact that the team is not named in the title of the book nor anywhere in the text. The team is also without one of their founding members, Wonder Girl, in Brave and the Bold 54. Look up the prices on that book for me one time. BA 12 - The Sirens aren't on the cover and do not function as a team in the book. They fight with each other in the book. Outside of being the 1st Harley, it's not the first appearance of anything. Harley Quinn 3 - The trio is playing grab on the cover. Who cares? They are not named Gotham City Sirens in the book and do not team up. In fact they specifically state they are not a team. Also the story is about a meeting of numerous female characters, not just the trio of Sirens. Catwoman 89 - First appearance of the trio as a team. Each member is introduced, nobody else. They specifically mention that they are a team and appear in more than one panel together as a team. None of the other books in contention can claim that. Tec 850 - Sirens not named. Sirens not on cover. Sirens do not appear together in same panel. Additional characters, like Oracle (not a Siren), are involved the scheme against Hush. This book gives a little back story to the Sirens current situation that is explored in Gotham City Sirens 1, that's it. This isn't the Avengers or Justice League, the Sirens is not some official team name with membership applications and dues. Harley, Ivy, and Catwoman are informally known as the Sirens. Nobody in the entire Sirens run refers to the team as the Sirens, nor do the team members use that label for themselves. Actually this is not true. The three of them have come together very rarely over the years in a team-up. 2 of them appearing is not the same. Appearing as adversaries is also not the same thing. Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad don't form a team in Brave and Bold 54. They fight on the same side, then part ways, just as heroes did every month in that comic.
  7. Would this be a bad time to mention Brave and Bold 54?
  8. Right. Because people don't know how rare it is. So, if someone's claiming that it's available, I'd like to see where. If it's not available, it's just possible that some people out there collect Adam Hughes rarities and might be interested to know about it. Or are we not supposed to post new information unless people already care about it, in which case it's not new? Yes, thank you for posting this book. I don't think most of us had heard about or seen it before. I'll say this every time like a broken record, rarity or relative rarity does not mean anything. Supply < demand is all that matters. Hughes has tons of early work that nobody seems to care about because it is not the style or quality of work that made him popular today. http://comicvine.gamespot.com/scandals-1-good-as-gold/4000-181440/ and someone else's WTB list: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4796457 OK, thanks. I haven't seen anyone that has a physical copy verify that though, per my previous comments about the art style. Sounds like it is Adam vs. Stephen though. Agree that rarity by itself doesn't mean anything. Rarity plus collectible creator, however, seems to. There are lots of Alan Moore rarities that I've chased down because it's Alan Moore and it's fun. Likewise with Adam Hughes. I guarantee you you're wrong about "nobody" caring about early Hughes, cuz I do and I know some of it is tough to find.
  9. Where did you get that this is Adam Hughes? http://comicvine.gamespot.com/scandals-1-good-as-gold/4000-181440/ and someone else's WTB list: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4796457
  10. Somebody didn't have trouble finding these: Bloodshot #51 Maybe those were the result of years of hunting? Anyway, there are 6 raw copies on ebay right now, it's not like it doesn't exist. Yup, probably all of the books in this thread can be found on eBay. Link for Scandals? There's only one person that seems to care about that book. Right. Because people don't know how rare it is. So, if someone's claiming that it's available, I'd like to see where. 12. If he's Thanos's son, he's either an undocumented immigrant or an anchor baby. Why you politically correct sensitive snowflakes have to keep changing our heroes just to match your political correctness is beyond me.
  13. I highly doubt the validity of this claim. All in ONE shop? Where? Not Mike High and not Lonestar, because neither have all of these rarities in-shop or online. So, what great comic shop are we not aware of that has all of these books that very few of us are able to find? I never said 1 shop and my statement is a fact. If you require me to disclose? OK sure... 1.Tate in Lauderhill Fl. (Just got back 2 NY days ago) 2. The Stand (small mom and pop store in BK NY) 3. Mysterious Time Machine NYC 4. St. Marks comics NYC One again all the recent "last issues" mentioned in the pat few days with exception to Static 45. Thank you very much for your inquiry...maybe you should visit some of these shops instead of making accusations and trying to be a smart azz. You saw Scandals in one of these shops?
  14. Lemmings Sometimes, a cover will pop in people's eyes when they see other people appreciating it. That's not necessarily being a lemming. I've had the crowd go for covers I still didn't care for, and I've seen covers through new eyes when I've heard other people appreciate it.
  15. Guess I'll have to start looking for this one as well. When bin-digging I usually look for the AH cover, but that's the only Shulkie that was on my radar. Good to know! Anyone know how common the Bolland cover giveaway thingie is? It was a one-sheet Marvel published after not using his She-Hulk cover...or something?
  16. 1999? That hardly qualifies as "early" for Adam Hughes. Fair point. I hadn't realized the year--I was going by the style. Not to mention the fashion sense. As MichaelBrowning replied, it could be early work that was inventoried for years before being printed. That's certainly plausible. Unfortunately, there seems to be very little information available on that issue and that publisher. Yes, you just can't find it in the wild!

  18. Current BIN going rate seems to be $20+$5 shipping or $25 with free ship so they paid $5 higher than ebay rates. That said, this is still available for $10 from Amazon and afaik, they ship internationally so don't really get why everyone's flocking to ebay and paying double or more. , anyone want to take a guess how much the actual first prints with the sticker will fetch when they hit the 'bay? As pis poor as most ebay sellers pack their books, the Amazon ones are way worse. Play it safe, pay more on ebay and take the chance that you're buying from someone who knows what he's doing Check your LCS first!
  19. Are you sure that's new? Is is possible it was a pinup or something?
  20. I've found them super friendly and responsive--if you are. Fast, not so much--and, yeah, as someone else said, I think it's just the two of them, so cut them some slack and know it might take a while (especially right before the holidays).
  21. I think within the Flash world you could make a case for 105 or 110. However, if you're talking about importance to the broader DC universe and comics at large, Flash 123 had FAR greater implications and impact. It literally led to reboots of DC's most iconic characters, not to mention the cancellation/restart of comic series that had been going since the 1930s/'40s.
  22. I love the Market Reports, mostly. But the insanity of publishing next summer market reports written in December about market activity in the months prior to December... SMH... +1 It's a challenge, for sure. I always try to approach this from "this was the market in 2016" perspective, and focus on trends and patterns rather than individual prices. Other suggestions and proposed approaches are always welcome! I appreciate the work you put into it. Definitely not a knock on you. More on Overstreet's consistent inability to shorten up the lead time (c'mon, it's ridiculous), fix their recurring errors, and get a meaningful online presence going.
