  1. Another one picking up steam lately is Sally Forth #8. TOUGH white cover.
  2. Love when that happens! Also, I've never figured why #51 is in so much demand (granted it's a cool cover), when #50's cover totally blows it away. #50 reigns supreme for his Catwoman run IMO. Researching around online a bit, it turns out Lost fans scooped it up because of the Lost numbers on the cover. On a different note, anyone pick up the SDCC Betty and Veronica variant?
  3. Also underappreciated. Awesome series. Well, the regular format ongoing from DC was awesome. Prior to that there was a 5-issue series in mini size that you could only get by buying different Atari cartridges. Those issues are harder to find - I think the last two in particular? - and the story just isn't that interesting. It is in "continuity," though, as the ongoing series is a sequel that takes place 15-20 years later and builds off the events in the mini comics. If Atari Force ever were to take off, it would be the mini comics that did it I think - unless the character Dart became a breakout, since she first appeared in the ongoing. I think we are confusing our love for our 80s comics with good material. I love a lot of that stuff too, but it doesn't rank high for a reason. Nope! Quite aware a lot of stuff I love/loved was ,
  4. I keep hearing this....I know I have several of these somewhere. I was one of those suckers buying 3 of every number 1 at that time. Still waiting for Jemm Son Of Saturn t catch fire! And why is Camelot 3000 not collectible. What a great series that was. I have not even seen it before. My guess is that it's needs some pumpin' (er, or pimpin') Covers & interiors?! Is the story any good? Story still holds up, which is super impressive, given that it tackled issues that were still new territory for comics at the time. Great read. Epic, seminal series. Undervalued and underappreciated.
  5. What (raw) Catwoman sells for over $100?
  6. I think a bigger offender as far as being "overvalued" is BA #12. I would guess about one tenth as many were printed. Anyone know the actual numbers?
  7. I've lived in LA and NY, and the best pizza in Los Angeles is just okay by NY standards. In part it's the same reason bagels and bialys are better there - the water used in making the dough. The water thing has been debunked, actually. And I say that as a champion of NY pizza. (NY's still the best, just for different reasons, which I forget and am too lazy to google.)
  8. I loved the cover as well! I loved it so much that this should be arriving to me in a few days! HOLY CRUD.
  9. I believe Robert Overstreet just published a book that would be helpful with that!
  10. Exactly, I'm not sure how it didn't make sense for people Probably because it wasn't an actual sentence.
  11. Huh? I edited my post with additional info. Thanks, but still not sure it makes sense.
  12. For any of the DC war fanatics who's planning to pick up a copy of the Overstreet guide for this year, I guess it's going to be the limited edition Sgt. Rock cover for you guys then. An absolutely gorgeous Sgt. Rock cover by Russ Heath and definitely better than the standard edition Harley Quinn and Power Girl covers by Amanda Conners. Especially since this limited edition cover is going for the same price as the standard edition covers. Gonna get my copy next week! How do we get this?
  13. Not sure when or how I came across it, but turns out I had one, too, and didn't even realize it! Must've picked it up at a convention back in the day. Now, if anyone can offer any guidance on the different Watchmen smiley face buttons...?
  14. Belated congratulations. Truly amazing.
  15. THIS one, yes, tough to find. i'm still looking for mine!
  16. It's not a rarity. It's an important book, and worth having. But there were many printed and they can usually be found for sale, so, not a rarity.
  17. I thought Jon Kent's first was in Superman Convergence 2? It is. But this is when he puts on the costume, I think. Yes, cameo as a baby in SC 2 No costume yet, but LC1 is first full appearance of the character "grown" into the age he will be written in Supersons. Most people, including myself, are not a fan of 1st app babies. I'll pass on Son of the Demon baby Damian, test tube X-23, and UXM 201 baby Cable. And yes, the regular Lee Weeks cover is by far the better cover for this book, but you know, 1:25 variant hotness and all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that human does not look like a baby to me.
  18. Omac 1 ain't gonna pay for anything! All Star 58 on the other hand.... I have to say that the pretty white cover on Omac 1 is still nice to look at though in its well preserved state. As usual, I have a ton of 2d appearances.. AS 59. Like I have a ton of Marvel Premiere 16s, ASM 135s, etc. I pretty much bought every DC from '72-'82. Kept most of them although some disappeared along the way. It seems like only in the last few years are any of them getting to be worth a few bucks. Some of my Dollar books are quite nice and hard to find in decent shape. Then again I don't know who would actually want to buy them. The look of some of those early seventies books still sing to me; Wanted, Secret Origins, the obscure stuff not to many people want. I still think they are great. The guy who would want to buy great-condition Dollar Comics would be me.
  19. From a business stand point, this makes sense to me. Albeit your harsh tone. Sad but true. As the old adage goes: Desperate times call for desperate measure That doesnt mean its smart, but if a dealer had a slew of bad turnouts at cons, he still has to go back home and feed his family Yeah, agreed with you both, on both counts. Whenever I have a bad show, I think about some sagely advice that Al Stolz of Basement Comix relayed to me and a couple dealer friends of mine, years ago while we were talking shop at a small con. "No matter how bad a show is, never blow out". I've held fast to that tidbit, actually somewhat to Al's chagrin, when he's offered to buy books from my wall at shows.I counter his offer with that qoute, actually..he gets a lil chuckle out of that. I offer my table stock at competitive prices ( I don't carry .50 cent or $1 books) ...and I will cut (and virtually always do) a few bucks off virtually any sale, just to be friendly and build a repoire with buyers.Even if I am not asked, ...and I know that the buyer pulled out books that were already priced on the low end, I'll shave 10% off his stack.Or if he goes to town and picks 30 SA books out of my $10's, I'lleither give him 5 books for free or knock $50 off the tab. I'll tell a guy to pick a book out of my $3 boxes for free, after he buys two of my $5 books.........or a single $10 book, and he pays me. People remember those sorts of gestures. If somebody ever wants to buy out all of my table stock, they can have it for twenty five cents on the dollar. Hell, I'd be happy to get .33 cents on the dollar in trade value, towards bigger ticket books or slabs. So, how do I find out what shows you'll be doing? I want in on this!
  20. I'm surprised his Barb Wire covers haven't been getting more attention. They are amazing and, I would say, better than his recent Marvel covers.
