Got this back from CGC today. Hasn’t been a new 9.8 in a long time 😊

I agree it would look better in some mylar. Problem is, if I ever decide to sell, I would get less than what a 4.5 is worth.

These are the grader notes: large stain full bottom of back coverlight crease center of front cover breaks colorlight, multiple crease right bottom of front cover breaks colormedium crease left bottom of back covermoderate spine stress lines breaks colorvery light stain full bottom of front cover I do see the staining on the back cover. Water? not sure. there are no ripples, though it could have been pressed. I see no evidence of staining on the front. The front look excellent!

My uncle who grew up in the 50’s used to have a large number of silver age runs. Fantastic Four, Justice League, The Incredible Hulk... you name it. He had thousands. Once he went to college his mom grabbed all his comics, threw them on a pile and burned them. This Fantastic Four #9 was the only survivor which he gave to me 😊. The Exciting Comics #36 was not part of his collection. I just really love the Schomburg cover.

I’m happy to be back in the club. Just got this beauty off ebay today. Not high grade, but I love the centering and colors for the grade. Also love the fact that everything is intact. Seems a lot of low grade 181’s recently have the MVS stamp missing or some glaring flaw.

So I plan to submit a single page from GI Joe 21 for encapsulation (book is beat up but the page is good). How does CGC decide which side of the page to display in the case? Do I make a note in the submission form? Also, how will they know if the page is from the first or third printing?

What I did was post a sale of 1 nice book and then say that all these other books are free.

I didn't. I bought the book off ebay and did a lot of research verifying the authenticity of the signature. I'm 99% sure it was legit (you can never be 100%). Anyway, I bought it at a time when Bill Watterson wasn't thought of very much, unlike now where you will find a lot of fake sigs on ebay.

I also had an autographed copy of a Calvin and Hobbes book that I paid $250 for back in 2003. Sold it for $1350

I had purchased Star Wars: Tag and Bink are Dead #1 CGC 9.8 and Tag and Bink II Special Edition #1 CGC 9.8 for about $25 each back in 2006. Once it was announced that Tag and Bink would be in the new Han Solo movie I sold my 2 comics for $700 :)

Next up is Fantastic Four 51 Fine. $30. free- everything in the second picture. Everything is VG - Fine. The Spider-Man and was has Stan Lee’s sig on it, though it is not verified obviously.

First is X-Men 17, VG $45. free- everything in the second picture. Mostly VG. Daredevil 111 is VG and the Superman is, well not good. Star Wars 1 is a third printing I think. But it’s free!
