I've seen a few questionable charities linked to the comic hobby that were exposed here in the near twenty years I've been a member of these boards. @BerkbridgeFoundation might not realize the forum history of exposing them, and the way the community comes together to find out the truth. And while I can't even wrap my head around all of this as it's been unfolding over the past few days, I do want to say that it's good to know there's people here still watching out for one another. It's good to see that basic communal instinct that's too often drowned out by all the banter and noise of CG, and to know it's still alive and well on these forums.
Well said.

Bought a major Silver key from Isaac. Pleasant transaction from beginning to end. Specifically, A++ on the communication and care in packaging.

House of Secrets is a known "dumping ground" for restored and problem books, because Paul (the owner) doesn't care about restoration, and doesn't check. It is my opinion, after seeing and buying multiple books that had undisclosed restoration, over several years, that the unscrupulous buy restored slabs, crack them out, then sell them to HOS at a profit. When a book came back as restored from CGC, it was a fight to get a refund. Be very, very, very careful when buying anything of value.
I would skip House of Secrets altogether and head to Golden Apple.
I was not aware of this type of activity. Not cool. I used to buy back issues and talk to the folks at the shop between 2006-2011. Was an enjoyable experience. Have not heard anything negative from others. If things have changed for the worse, then it's unbeknownst to me. What a shame.

I live in Pasadena. Couples suggestions in case you can make it to these spots:
Frank & Sons Collectibles Show (City of Industry) - warehouse with many vendors, some comic dealers. open only on Wed and Sat.
House of Secrets - LCS in Burbank. The best in L.A.
I would have suggested the Rose Bowl flea market, but it only happens second Sunday of every month.

Bumpin' this one. Completely forgot about this post. Also dropping the price to $1,100.
