  1. how did something that use to be so simple evolve into this quagmire? "bust a deal, face the wheel."
  2. In the early to mid 70's I spent more hours playing this machine than I care to remember.
  3. Though your post disappeared, you were going to elaborate on why you don't pay fees for posted SS opportunities.
  4. My old Microtek x6el legal size scanner uses a standard 3 prong computer cord like the old crt monitors use. Contact me if that is what you need and I will send you one.
  5. bought and sold with Cal many times here and on ebay PERFECT every time
  6. This is from memory so I may need some help here........... Anyone remember the post where a board member showed a raw book and the mico trimmed fc right edge side by side? And then the same book in a blue label slab. I think it was Dad and Son but I can not be certain. Apology to D&S if not. He claimed it was done with an xacto knife.
  7. I wouldn't consider it an official offer but more like a question. Now, if he/she had said in addition to that something like "If so, I'll take it." then THAT is an official offer. I often question sellers if they'll take a certain amount for an item but also state that if they agree to that price. But once you said yes to that $100 asking price and they turned around and tried to get it even lower, now that's just downright wrong! I agree with shark it is still more of a question...and I agree with his second part as well...and I agree with the third part as well... And I say out the bas tid... We've been on a drama-drought the last couple of weeks... not the first time this topic has come up my question is Why the HECK are people asking a seller if he will accept X amount unless it is an offer?
  8. I gave up reading the Dr. Frankenstein fiasco thread did someone nominate him or was it popular vote?
  9. exactly my first thought when I read the op but a small correction for accuracy "bust a deal, face the wheel"
  10. I usually get my stuff in about a week too, but there is the odd package that Canada Customs takes a special interest in, and the delay can be 1-2 weeks or more. I guess there's a backlog right now, so if a package gets tagged, it can easily take over 2 weeks to get here. 30 days for sellers and 10 days for buyers seems logical to me. 30 days is way too long for intra-country shipments. Otherwise this sounds fine to me. Realistically, I expect payment within 3 days, and I expect shipments within 10 days, probably because that's all I'm willing to allow myself. It comes down to this: If you don't have the money, or access to it, then don't post the little guy. And if your too lazy to ship efficiently then take it to eBay. I expect payment within 7 days, and I expect shipment next day
  11. RedHook was responsible for authoring perhaps the single best post I have ever read here. It was the thread investigating whether a particular book was a (I think) Green River pedigree. The post/thread was proposing why he felt a particular book was a GR, and it read like an autopsy/investigation. It's thoroughness and detail made it clear he was perhaps the only person in the entire world who could write up such a post. he is the same red hook that was seen on this other comic board a couple of days ago linky
  12. is this boardie different from clobberintime who is on the list
  13. " Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children."
  14. not my book but a good example of a book with too much light/sunlight
