This Week In Your Plastic Crack, Action Figures and Toy Collection
Jesse-Lee replied to Buzzetta's topic in Comics General
Yeah, the BAH legs look a little spindly, especially next to that amazing-looking one. I do like the look of the BAH though, and I think it'll be cool to use with other figures aside from the Dark Knight ones. -

That looks outstanding! I ended up buying the McFarlane Dark Knight figures - mostly in order to get the Build-A-Horse, but also because I wanted an inexpensive Carrie Kelly and Superman. I just got them from Amazon (got them on sale for around $65 for the whole set), so I haven't opened them yet. I know the Mafex are smaller than the McFarlane stuff, but I think it'll still work with the scale if I want to swap in the Mafex version on the horse. -

One hour later and it finally acknowledged me as the winner and let me pay. For those curious, it was a high grade copy of Batman #89 1st print that I won for $26.50. It's a roughly $50 book raw, so while I got a deal, I doubt it was enough of a discrepancy in price for any real shenanigans - I think it was probably just a weird eBay glitch due to a couple of us trying to bid at the last second. I was the winning bid out of only 3 bids, probably because the seller erroneously listed it as "Batman Beyond 89," and I think because of that it didn't show up in searches for "Batman 89." I tried searching for it as "Batman 89" prior to the auction ending just to see if it would show up, and it didn't show up in that search for whatever reason... I only stumbled across it in the first place because it was a seller I had previously bought from. Edited to add - it also doesn't currently show up in sold listings if you search "Batman Beyond 89" or "Batman 89," so I have zero clue what's going on with eBay's search functionality.

40 minutes in and no change. The bid history page says I'm the winner at the top of the page and in the bid list, but the main auction page still has the determining the winner text and there's no option to pay...

So here's a weird one - I just "won" an auction on eBay, it ended at 11:35 central time. It shows the item as having 3 bids in its bid history, with mine as the high bid. But it just says, "We’re determining the winner. Please refresh the page." It's said that for 10 minutes so far, and I keep refreshing, but nothing. Usually I get an iPhone notification that I won the item or "it got away." Also, usually it shows up on eBay that I won and asks for payment. I've actually seen the "We're determining the winner" text before, but it's usually there for a few seconds and then when I refresh it shows I won... Anyone ever have this happen?

Got my first ever Mafex today - I can't believe how nice this figure is. I mean, it should be for the money, but wow. I'd been waffling on buying this for awhile and I finally went for it, and I couldn't be happier. -

Got a couple of new figs in today, and I'm also currently trying to learn Photoshop compositing, so I thought I'd try a quick-and-dirty composite with an iPhone pic. I clearly have a lot to learn... You can't tell from this, but I really am a photographer as part of my job, so I'm looking forward to setting up my gear (lights, etc.) and taking some actual, nice figure shots and then keep plugging away at the Photoshop compositing tutorials! -
What's new in your Silver Age collection this week
Jesse-Lee replied to Silver's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
The House of Mystery is the first appearance of Robby Reed/Dial H for Hero and the H-Dial. Not hugely popular, but it had a resurgence in 2019 with a new Dial H for Hero run. And Miguel Montez (the current Dial H character) is in Teen Titans Academy.
