  1. Thanks all! If there's any interest, I can post a closer pic when I get the book in-hand.
  2. Just won a Batman 232, finally - I've been watching for a decent enough price on this book, and I actually was hoping to get it in a 6.5 because I have a couple of other Batman/Neal Adams keys in a 6.5. I literally just won the auction less than an hour ago, so I obviously don't have the book in hand yet. But I do have the listing picture, and I was just curious - does this book look like a case of color touch removed? I ask because the main flaws in the book look like divots in the black line that runs down the spine, which is consistent with other books I've see where there was color touch removed. And the black line spine is a common color touch area on this and other books. I don't care at all if it is - I know I bought a 6.5 and I'm actually happy overall how the book presents in that grade. I'm really just more curious than anything if people who know better than I can tell if it looks like a color touch removed copy. Here's the book: And here the spine:
  3. I had the Hulk too - one of my most favorite toys as a kid! He's long gone, completely fell apart from playing/sleeping in my bed/etc.
  4. Thanks, me too! Aside from the 9.8, I didn't do too terribly bad on the rest - I have a couple of sets of the Cover B 1-5 fist prints and a set of the Cover A 1-5 first prints raw, but I'm only into those for about $150 total for 15 books, so it's not an awful beat luckily.
  5. I also went pretty hard on Stray Dogs, including a #1 9.8 for $175. Oh well, at least they're pretty to look at.
  6. Just got these - 2nd overall Animal Man and 2nd Animal Man in costume. Lower grades, but I got a good price and couldn't pass them up!
  7. Thanks, me too! The price was right, so I was looking at them like, "I don't really collect Conan, or Swamp Thing, or whatever; but I can't pass on these, they're too sweet to leave behind!"
  8. $10 for a comic and toy combo is a perfect "birthday party" price point. I'm sure a lot of adult collectors will grab these (I probably will buy at least the Batman one), but with the price of action figures in the toy aisles, these seem like a decent deal for parents to pick up for their kids.
  9. I'd like to see this action figure collaboration for us adults...
  10. I won one auction on ComicConnect 2 years ago (Hulk 377 cgc 9.6 for $30). After shipping it was almost a $60 book, and it kind of turned me off on the whole process, so then I mostly just did DIG auctions (which I got a lot of great, inexpensive stuff from there over the past two years). Is shipping at the other "big" auctions (Comic Link, etc.) reasonable, or is it as bad as ComicConnect?
  11. Yeah, I agree - I have a great-looking UF4, but it's graded a 9.2. But I can't see a crease at all on that one either. That book is probably one of the more high-profile examples when it comes to polybagged books.
  12. I probably bought too many Hulk 6 even though I knew better. I also bought a bunch of Black Panther 3 2nd print, but those actually seem to be moving a little bit. For some reason I only pre-ordered 1 copy of ASM 55 (the big Gleason cover) when it first came out though. And I missed on pre-ordering Black Panther 3 1st print at all. Apparently I'm not great at this...
  13. What an outstanding mail day (sorry, this is going to be a long post)! First, got this big batch in: This is the JC Penney reprint Then, this sweet batch of modern variants - unbelievably, these shipped on Tuesday from the UK, and they showed up at my door today! Thanks DHL!
  14. I got an email from BBTS about these a couple of weeks ago - looks like they're slightly cheaper at Target: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/204716 I think they're kind of neat, I might pick up the Bats one.
