  1. Got this for what I thought was a decent price and the pics looked good - curious to see what others would grade it at (I actually did try to clean my scanner but I need some Windex or something - the white marks on the cover are dust/debris on the scanner bed, not the book, sorry):
  2. More progress on the Vol 1 run (and a cool sealed portfolio):
  3. A few more Turtles. First, I got this gem a couple of weeks ago from @ft88's great sale (thank you!): Then I got this great-looking Raphael 2nd print from @THE_BEYONDER (thank you too!): I got a couple more nice copies on eBay, including a #3 2nd print and a #62, the final book in the first volume: And finally, I got a couple great books from @Changer's recent sale - one is a bat, not a turtle (thank you also!):
  4. Thank you for the Raphael 1 2nd print, the amazing packing and the super fast shipping - much appreciated!!
  5. I'd flip if I found that book for that cheap - nice find!! If it's not good enough for your collection, let me know, I'll send you the $15 and you can send it my way...
  6. From my personal experience, it's gone in waves on eBay. I've gone from extreme dry spells to selling 3-4 books in a day in the past few months, and it seems random. The caveat being I only have 30-50 listings at any given time, and a lot of my books are on the $15-40 range, so I'm not a big-time seller - I consider myself a hobby seller. I have noticed that sales seem to pick up when I add more books or do mass re-pricing on my listings, so maybe there is something in the algorithm that rewards action on listings? I'm also aggressive on sending deals to watchers, and I also set prices so that I have a nice amount of room to accept offers/send deals and still make a profit on listings. I think there are a lot of deal searchers on there right now, which works if you have the margins, but is tough if you're thin.
  7. They have 100% positive feedback, so they're playing with fire if they cancel... Nah, I'm kidding, as an eBay seller, I personally wouldn't ruin their feedback streak over it. But they're really high-volume; I could see them eating the few mistakes they apparently made in order to keep the goodwill flowing. I agree with you, fingers crossed. We'll see what happens. The interesting thing is they obviously have auto feedback on because they already left me a positive buyer feedback.
  8. Thanks! One of my 5 is in surprisingly really great shape - I doubt a 9.8, but a 9.2-9.4 is probably not out of the question. The other 4 are definitely more in the 6.5-8.5 range
  9. I've been looking for this book in the wild for more than a year. I refused to buy it on eBay or anywhere else, because I was convinced I'd find a copy in a back issue box somewhere at a show or an LCS. I found it yesterday. It's not a high-grade copy, but at least now it's mine:
  10. Looks like it's now listed as $49.99 at that link. I haven't gotten any sort of cancellation yet...
  11. Wow... Thanks, I ordered one, but that has to be a mistake, right? We'll see if they honor it - all the other 1:25s on their eBay store are $15-20 at a minimum, with many at $50 or more. And I can't imagine DC vs Vampires is a highly ordered title... Edited to add - I found 2 other preorders on eBay for this; one for $53 and one for $79.
  12. This is one of those books that I pretty much always buy when I find one in the wild (the newsstand copy that is). I believe this is my 5th copy. This is also the most I've paid for one:
  13. On a short trip and got to pop into a couple stores. First was a record shop that advertised comics. Everything was really pricey, but then I saw a pack of Batgirl 1-12 for $40, which was pretty decent for these highlights: Then another store had some decent back issue bins. I was running out of time, but found these:
  14. I like this one! I've always loved that X-men 168 cover.
  15. Only the #1 4th print and the #3 1st print are graded - both a 9.2, but just coincidentally. I'm with you on the "take what I can get," but I've tried to set a minimum when possible at the VF (8.0-8.5) range. I'd say many are above that though. A lot I've actually found "in the wild" at shows or shops, but now I've been picking up individual issues or small lots on eBay too. I finished the Tales of the TMNT Vol. 1 run - only 7 issues - almost completely from finding them in the wild, except for issue 4 (first Rat King) that came from eBay.
  16. Thanks! I'm still about 14 issues away, and half of that is finishing the final "City at War" run, which can get a bit pricey. I do have a #62 on the way that I got for a decent price though - that's the final issue and tough to find in a decent enough grade. The "big" books I still need (not counting a 1st-3rd print #1 or a 1st-2nd print #2) are a #4 (either or both printings, I'm not chasing the error) and a Raphael 1st print, which is technically a one-shot, but I'm counting those too.
  17. Picked up some turtles - 14 or so issues away from finishing the run (aside from books I'll probably never get, like a first print #1 - or probably a 2nd or 3rd print for that matter). Sorry for the dirty scanner...
  18. Getting closer to completing a TMNT Vol 1 run (well, "complete" with some caveats - my #1 is a 4th print and my #2 is a 3rd print, but those will have to hold me over for now). Please pardon my dirty scanner. Thanks to @jsilverjanet for helping me fill a nice, mostly consecutive run of my missing issues: And then I got these from a couple of different eBay sales:
  19. How do you tell 1st from 2nd print? Is it just in the indicia?
