  1. We got to Kentucky around 4 pm on Saturday, and stayed until Monday night, but we had a memorial service to attend and other family obligations, so I knew from 5-6 pm Saturday was my only time window. So I figured out there was a shop near the hotel that was open until 7, got the consensus from my wife that I'd have the time to leave without missing anything, and made my run to the shop. Only ended up with about 30 minutes to actually shop, but it was still fun.
  2. Popped into a shop during a family trip to Kentucky this week, spent $30:
  3. What are those label notes on the 9.0 and the TMNT 1? I can't make them out. Just curious.
  4. Bought a bunch more books from John, because he's got great books at great prices, his sales threads are a blast, and he always ships fast and has fair grading. A few facts about @John R: “They say that John R is a registered lethal weapon in Canada and over 50 states.” “John R invented the question mark.” “I heard that John R once punched a hole through a cow just to see who was coming up the road.” “John R’s voice is so powerful that it can shatter glass.” “I heard that John R once fought off a pack of wolves… with nothing but his winning personality.”
  5. I haven't. I've seen newsstands of other issues in that run though, so it seems like there should be newsstands of #1 somewhere...
  6. I keep hoping so, but nothing yet. They also canceled the Advent Calendar with Orko in it, and there was a mini-fig set that they released, but for some reason in ridiculously limited numbers - with Orko in it. So at this point, the only way to get an official Orko fig (my favorite character) is to spend $200+. Since they just released the main tower of Eternia on the Mattel website, with signs that they'll release all three towers as separate sets, I'm holding out hope we'll finally get an official Orko release in a proper set.
  7. I wanted this since it came out, but it was pretty pricey at launch - $320+. I have almost all of the other MEGA MOTU sets (still need to get Monstroid - and I'll never have the Battle Bones, because it was an SDCC Exclusive and it's $400 at resale, which I refuse to pay). I got Castle Grayskull on Amazon a couple of years ago for $150, so I told myself if Snake Mountain ever dips below $200, I'll pull the trigger. Well, a couple of days ago it hit $199 on Amazon, and I kept my promise to myself. This thing is massive and super heavy! Can't wait to find the time to build it:

  17. There was another thread on this, but I can't find it at the moment, but someone found a newsstand version at an estate sale or garage sale I think, and posted some info about it.
  18. Well, at least I did better this round: Wow #1 4.5 - So close... Action Comics #253 2.5 - Avengers #48 6.5 - I have a beautiful Batman 244 with a similar dust shadow (but far lighter, on the back cover) to this book and it's a 6.5. Maybe I should resubmit it... X-Men #107 9.0 - Got a bullseye! Star Wars #68 9.6 - So close...
