  3. I love this book - I actually remember getting this book in school and I was really into Teen Titans at the time, and it was such a thrill to get a free comic book from school. I still have it.
  4. I'd 100% walk - doesn't pass the sniff test in my opinion.
  5. It's 948 books. Assume for the sake of argument $150K on AF15, $100K on ASM 1-10, and $50K on ASM 11-20. That's $300K on 21 books. So that leaves $1.2 million for 927 books, or $1,294 a book on average. Using KeyCollector as a guide, the books after ASM 20 that beat the $1,294 average in "high grade" are ASM 28, 31, 41, 50, 101, 129. There are some outliers KeyCollector wouldn't catch because they command a premium in a 9.8, like ASM 194, 238, 252, 300, 301. That's 11 "key" books outside the first 21 that beat the $1,294 average, and some by a decent amount - double or more in some cases. But even if there were 40 additional books after the first 21, and we said those 40 averaged a ballpark value of $3k each, that's $120K more. So we're at 61 books worth $420K. Let's sloppily round it to $500K even to make the math easier. That still leaves $1 million for 887 books, or $1,127 a book on average. This "napkin scratch" analysis obviously has flaws, and I'm sure someone will point it out if I'm way off. But in general - even though it's definitely an impressive accomplishment - I think it's probably not worth it outside the novelty of owning such a massive, complete run, which could draw a premium in and of itself from the right buyer.
  6. Well again, just a single example, but I just recently sold a Thundercats 23 newsstand for $30 and I bought it out of a $2 bin. The direct version usually sells for $15 or less. So I think there are still collectors out there paying a premium, but it's probably a little more book-dependent now.
  7. Just my personal experience, I never buy newsstands at a "newsstand collector" price - I'm more of an opportunist. I personally prefer newsstands on copper books for my own collection because it's a nostalgia thing for me, but even then, if there's a key book I really want and the direct is significantly cheaper, I'll just buy that. But on modern and/or "rare" newsies, I just keep my eyes open. I can tell you there are still plenty of LCS's - at least near me - where they don't differentiate on price just because it's a newsstand (although many are increasingly hip to the game). My best luck continues to come on eBay and flea market stuff where people are selling lots and they probably aren't comic collectors, they're "collectible flippers" who run on volume and don't care to do the research. Even those are drying up, but they're still out there if you hunt. And usually when I'm buying those, I'm buying them to sell so I can fund what I really want for myself. Just my .

Ed is a great seller, and I'm really happy with my recent TMNT purchase - one step closer to a full run. Ed is super fair and everything is easy and worry-free with him. Thanks!
  9. John is one of the top sellers here in my opinion (as evidenced by my multiple kudos posts here) - a huge variety of books, great grading, great pricing, excellent shipping and packing, always.
  10. Added these this week from a fellow boardie - only 8 issues left to complete my TMNT Vol. 1 run (caveat being - my #1 is a 4th print, #2 is a 3rd print and Raphael one-shot is a 2nd print).
  11. Huge thanks to @ft88 for helping me fill a big gap in my TMNT Vol. 1 full run goal. Only 8 issues to go!
  12. Agree on this - a key is a key because of something significant within the story/mythos/world of the character or comic universe. I like a lot of "classic covers," but Batman 423 - for example - is not a key.
  13. Nice little dollar bin find today - and a newsstand to boot!
  14. First, some nice pickups from @SOLAR BOY's great recent sale - thanks! And then, a little dollar-diving today:
