  1. thanks for taking it. I was debating with my wife if I should just take my own if it fell all the way to #27:) I’ve got quite a few nice books in right now so you should get a nice batch of books.
  2. Wait - you spent $4,000 on Tom and Jerry comics? I didn't know there was that many T & J books out there.
  3. My vote is for 8.0 copies. A lot of them look darn near perfect but cost a pittance compared to the 9.2 - 9.8 copies. Most casual buyers think most CGC 8.0s look brand new and they don't last long when you get them in. The price difference between a 8.0 and a 6.0 isn't enough to counterbalance the increased demand for the 8.0 copies.
  4. Based on the buzz on the street so did a LOT of other people. I've not watched any of it yet (working my way thru Season 2 of Reacher)
  5. Isn't it the law in Canada that you claim the cost of each item that comes into the country so they can tax you? Saying certain packages under a certain size probably won't be opened isn't exactly screaming that people should follow the law or most of what you posted would be moot. I'm not Canadian but I always post the actual price of books on Canadian packages for my own piece of mind.
  6. Richard Franklin, ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Actor, Dead at 87 (yahoo.com) Sad news
  7. My - It's been pretty obvious that Marvel has been the darling of most reviewers and a lot of board members but that has changed since End Game. People seem to be just as critical of the recent slate of movies that Marvel has put out to rival the critical reviews given to DC movies. I'd even say Marvel movies are now getting more hate and criticism but the complete carp that DC has been putting out doesn't help.
  8. And hopefully better scripts. It's a rough market to be in (new movies) since there has only been a couple hits this year but there has been quite few movies that blew by the expectations (Oppenheimer comes to mind). The same old superhero flick is just stale and the studios need to find some unique and fun stories before they push more superhero flicks into the theaters.
  9. They always seem to like saying your name. Makes them laugh every year.
  10. They did a great job! After last year picking #2 I was sure I’d be in the bottom so I’m excited to pick in the middle of the pack. Always a fun event through and through.
  11. I’ll ship anywhere. May be a bit more but it’s the giving season.
  12. Hate to say it but it's best to just move on unless you want to fly over and pick up the book in person (if the seller will do that). A lot of sellers will not ship to a middle man especially if it's through E-bay. May be better to just wait for another copy to come up.
  13. Even if the two do combine the company will have a cap of 37 Billion which is 1/6th of Netflix and 1/80 of Apple. I hope the two combine and then a heavy hitter like Amazon or Apple buy them to instantly have a huge backlog of IPs and movies.
  14. I watched it also this weekend and I agree it was enjoyable. I think it's a bit of a stretch to compare it to the quality and social impact of BP but I do like the comparison to the 1st ant man in terms of how it flowed. I'd give it a B- just because a lot of the jokes fell flat and there was no chemistry between the two leads but it was an enjoyable watch.
  15. They hit it out of the park with Guardians of the Galaxy (heck most of us thought they were kind of lame before the show came out) and Black Panther so I think they decide to keep swinging for the fences with more and more obscure characters. Shang-Chi was decent so their track record hasn't been that bad but it's definitely getting worse and worse.
  16. I don’t think the “minor” offenses will haunt him forever. He obviously wont be working for Marvel any longer but he is young and I’m sure we will see him in stuff in the future.
  17. I went to a family birthday party yesterday and my 22 year old nephew was lamenting the collapse of Marvel stuff and I had to unfortunately agree with him All the spark that they had bottled up in each of the first few stages has completely turned rotten and it feels like more and more of a cash grab. I liked the recent Guardians but I can't think of anything I'd recommend (other than the short Werewolf special) after Endgame. I've still got Secret Invasion to finish when I'm really bored (I think I'm on ep 3). I may try out the new What If but I wasn't blown away by most of the 1st season so it will be far down the list.
  18. I finally got around to finishing Loki Season 2 this weekend and I really wish I had the time back. It was a confusing cluster of a plot and the ending was just horrible? So Loki the god of mischief is now the god of time itself and he sacrificed himself to prevent a complete meltdown of time - sounds like the Loki I know. I thought I hated She-Hulk (which I've still not finished) but Loki 2 was just torture to keep watching but I did it!
  19. I still have one of your Doctor Who pages on my wall of art behind my work desk at home from when you gave it to me in the Giving Tree thread. I'll have to take a scan of it so others can see all the details you put into the various characters that made up the Doctor Who universe.
  20. Baker is Doctor Who in my mind and he always will be. I grew up watching it on PBS and waiting with baited breath for the next week's episode. Tennant would have to be 2nd and Smith would have to be 3rd but he is way behind #1 & #2.
  21. May want to consider moving them over into 65 long boxes (roughly) which will allow you to move them in a large moving van which will save you the hassle of renting a large truck. I moved a 60 - 70 long box collection that way a decade ago and it was hard work but nothing crazy time consuming. You could try it with short boxes but I think they take up more space so they may not fit in the van I'm thinking of.
