So much for my theory that no one cares. These are my original copies from off the rack. I haven't upgraded them yet
Off the rack == that is awesome which brings up something very distinct; in fact so much so that I have been mulling over starting a journal. Luckily I have most of my OO comics from the 70s and 80s. But for some reason in some instances, especially with toys and video games from this era, I get more excited over finding something in particular in pristine/new/shrink wrapped condition. It's almost as if the reboot button got clicked and I'm back in time with a flood of memories rushing in that I completely forgot about. Cheers.

You would be surprised, that book does seem to go for a premium, I remember reading it when it came out and loved it too, still looking for a HG copy for myself.
Indeed. This one is high on my get-list. Only 1 9.8 and 5 9.6s in the census.

Wow! Two of my favorite Hulk covers in 9.8, in one post. Thanks. Are you going for the entire run graded?
Thanks! Yes I have a short list of slabbed runs I am presently putting together. For IH my objective is 201-300 as these contain some of my all-time favorite covers and stories. 100s not too shabby either

Yeah. In order to say no to 40x, you have to have been willing to say no to 10x. Then 15x. Then 20x. Then 30x. etc... all the way up and down the timeline. Anybody looking to just make a few bucks cashes in at 10x or, to be frank, more like 2x. "Hey, I doubled my money!" They never get to a position where they can say no to 40x.
I've cashed in a few things for lifestyle improvements, but it just makes getting anything else out of me harder going forward. I still have daily WTF price shock moments though. I was offered 15K today for something I mentally valued at 4k today, maybe 2k two years ago, that I paid $100 or less ($75?) for ten years ago. I'm sure I was low on my mental valuation, but again, when you pay something like $75 and you haven't dragged it of of a box in five years, its easy for that to happen. Aaaand I'm going to say no to the offer.
Truer words have never been spoken. When Facebook IPO'd I was forensically watching order flow for days. Morgan Stanley and other underwriters tried their best to support the bid. No chance. Stock price just melted away. Eventually a couple months after the debut, volume started drying up and technicals turned really bullish. I vividly remember calling my cousin, today is the day. We both got in at $18s. I could barely hold on to the position in excitement a few months down the road selling just under $30 thinking I was a rockstar. My cousin; well he placed his shares in a drawer forgetting about them and still has all his shares present day. Sometime the best investment you make is with complete detachment and utterly forgetting about it.

Might explain why there are only two sellers on eBay with guaranteed CGC 9.8 listings @ $500 a pop. When this revelation hits critical mass and if 9.8's end up being a unicorn, watching the price action will surely be entertaining. Is it true there only 2500 of this variant?

Just wondering if anyone had thoughts on this. Comic has all the sigs on the back cover, so it presents from the front as a blue label - pros/cons? Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Looks as though the opportunity to obtain a CGC NM9.8 White pages copy for under $1K was very brief. Prices now very solidly above $1K, headed towards $1.1K
Uptick continues. (The two BINs were taken out quickly)
