I find that mylites make way too much noise when you start moving them around. And when everyone else is sleeping in the house, this is no bueno. So I opt for resealable poly bags.

That's awesome! I have some of the Batman Kits but just the square glow monster kits.
Do you by chance have the Batmobile?

Not a slab but I won this. I just love the long box Aurora models, especially sealed.
Awesome! Sealed indeed for that true nostalgic experience. I have several of their monster kits.

Not sure how the CGC grading works in terms of markings on the cover, as opposed to erasures.
Just wondering if the erasure would have resulted in a bigger hit on the grading of the book, as opposed to leaving the original "S" marking on the book.
From my own personal collector's point of view, I definitely would have prefer the original "S" marking as opposed to the intentionally made fugly erasure which just seems to stand out so much more.
@Crowzilla (I read this thread backwards to the beginning now) Sounds as if possibly this 9.2 which was previously a 9.0 (confirmed by @MasterChief) had yet another previous life as an 8.5? with the S not erased yet?

Today is a day we need to really be thankful for all the blessings we have in our lives. I would also like to give a shout out to all those serving in our glorious military who are separated from families.
On a lighter note, since I'm not on any social media platform, wanted to share this little tradition with my comic comrades. This goes out to all those who are putting on an academy award winning performance today. Perhaps you and your better half are just together for the sake of your children. Maybe you have so much money, you can't afford to separate. Your in-laws that are staying with you the next four days drive you absolutely mad. I could go on but I digress. I will honor and think of all of you today as I crack open a new bottle of Beluga gold.
So I started a little turkey day tradition years ago where I treat myself to a new slab for appeasement of my particular enduring situation a bit. Here is what I just picked up Cheers!

Took another deep dive into the digital abyss... came up with this.
The 3rd 9.0 image is presented as discovered. The 9.4 image is resized for the purpose of side-by-side comparison...
Thank you. Just getting to my computer now. You saved me allot of time. I took a look-back at stale CGC census data and confirmed that it was on the 11/10/20 census update, that the 9.0 population dropped to 1.
On that 9.2 I posted, I believe you confirmed it was a 9.0 in its previous life and also had the erased S. Any thoughts on another astute's posters comment that it could have resided in a lower graded case before that with the S actually not erased? Thanks again. Cheers.

And beer.
My preferred beverage of choice, especially when auction bidding in the last ten seconds, is wild turkey bourbon. No joke, my win-rate is 80% with that stuff.

Need proof
I should be getting home in the next two hours. Also worth nothing, my wife has absolutely no interest in my nostalgic hobby of collecting thus this will further push-back my forensic computer search to later tonight.

So, there was an S erased on that 9.2? That's a lot of color loss. It looks like an 8.5 tops to me.
Right that "S" just jumped out at me upon looking a little more closely. Keep in mind, this was graded nearly a decade ago. At that point in time, how many higher grade Bats had come across the table to date?

Plus it doesn’t have that Nick at the top border
I was trying to edit/crop but don't have the proper tools at the moment. Look at near Bat's cape and you can also see a slight hint of chips right side but not similar to the 9.4's top edge.
If you click on this picture, you can click one more time for a slight zoom in-look.

This is the greatest song ever.
Impeccable taste in music, you have. I'll never forget the day, where I was, and what I was doing when I first heard this song. I had such a visceral reaction that I wanted to immediately take my entire 60/70s rock collection catalog of original LPs, my master-piece run of Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Chopin and just completely throw everything straight into the garbage. No creation will ever be replicated as such.

You referring to TM yellow label 9.8? Where have you seen those numbers? If things get too out of control next year there's more 9.6 yellow Mcfarlanes and 9.6 yellows might be more coveted anyway for a 33 year old book.
Actually after your comment, I looked back. The only saved sold auctions I had were 2X SS 9.8 TM/SL in $7K range. There were several single TM SS 9.8s listed in $6K-$6.5K range but it appears these were all sold offline as the listings were ended early by seller(s) and "no longer available." There was another two floating here on the boards that I tried to negotiate on via PM but that sold for $5K and the other one a higher amount that I'm not sure of.

....... if you are the under bidder and get the 2nd chance
I assume you'll take it, but what would it be price wise, your max bid? That it jumped to? Or the minimum max bid?
You dont have to say the amount exactly if you dont want to
See it's still selling at auction for 4k regularly in blue label
Those $5k sales were optimistic bin, those sellers must be riding the wave!
It appears that 1 feedback bidder was legit. Feedback just went to 2; quite often those large sellers have auto feedback which is immediately given upon payment.
My initial max on this was $4500 but of course I overbid @$4777. Reality is without the top bidder, it would only have taken $4596 to win. These have been selling between $5500-$6000 while the dual SL/TM has broken $7K. I thought given the PQ on this particular one and the jagged right edge, could have gotten it on the cheap but in reality I didn't stick to my goal and bid too much, so ultimately probably a blessing it played out like this. I just need to wait and be patient. I should just wait until 2021 post-movie.

I thought this was going to the one. A very short duration listing a few days under the weekend radar. I had snagged it but with a second left, a 1 feedback bidder sniped it from me. If it wasn't for him, would have it on the cheap. So I landed runner-up; what are the odds I get a 2nd chance offer?

I’m jealous of your 9.8. This is my copy from when I was a kid. I had a mail subscription with Marvel at the time. After a year I was fed up because the comics would arrive damaged. I’ve noticed this issue isn’t cheap these days with the new She Hulk show coming out soon.
Sorry to hear about this experience not going well but you just made me remember how many cool and totally awesome "things" you could get in the mail during this time period. Sears catalog was Amazon before Amazon.
I remember in particular sending away with a grocery list of specific #s that I needed in order to my complete my various sticker book collections. I vividly recall the night in haste, maybe a decade ago or so, I had recently moved and found out I was going to be moving again. I had been lugging around so much stuff and in my sleep deprived state late at night just started chucking things to lighten up my inventory. Unfortunately I dumped all of my early 80s completed run sticker books i.e. NFL, MLB, some non-sports too. Really dumb move in hindsight. Luckily I still have all of my OO non-sports trading cards from the 70s/80s (thousands of them)

Unrelated to the Hulk-Smash special delivery, I have finally reunited the pair below after many years of waiting. Now if I could just go back in time and buy back my matching ASM 300 CGC 9.8 SS TM for under $700 again
I find quite often, especially for registry runs, I'll grab the photo off the listing immediately after the win, and it's really more of a mechanical process. When the slab arrives in the mail, take a gander, but ultimately it just winds up in a box store away. I think it is important to sometimes take an actual moment in time and enjoy what you have. Cheers.

What shipping carrier?
Just opened everything. Slabs were all Turns out everything was way overpacked inside. The outside box also was oversized. Carrier was UPS (Ground)
Thanks for asking.

Finally got a block of time for mail call as I have boxes hidden all over the place that needed to be opened so slabs can finally be properly bagged with registry updates etc.
Can now also take some group photos as well. Thinking of starting a journal that will explore the conundrum of balancing happiness from nostalgia/collecting and not letting this be the primary driving force of happiness vs. living in the present moment and enjoying this time as well. Cheers.

Well here is my OO IH 171! Even as a kid, I managed to treat this comic so carefully as it was one of my all-time favorites. I am surprised the condition it has stayed in all these years. Maybe I'll send it to @joeypost

I think in general there is definitely a trade off between sig placement vs. quality/presentation of the sig itself (especially when multiple sigs are in play.) I would be curious to hear any input from @seanfingh on this one.
I looked for a very long time to find a 238 that had perfect book structure (i.e. centered with all corners completely lining up with the pages, no overhangs, no spine miswrap etc.) coupled with 2X SL and JR but with sigs not placed anywhere on top of Spidie nor HG's face.
