  1. Today was a good day for me as i received a nice mixed batch
  2. My sentiments exactly... first time i have seen PGX restored slabs.. are you thinking of cracking them, or maybe get them CGC'ed instead? (excuse my brainwashed question ) I had not considered regrading them, I really only had them entombed for protection. I consider myself to be a very strict grader, so on a few issues, I would say a little tight but overall I think they have been real accurate. The Young A. book with M P does have a little red felt pen action(def amt.) but also some professional work. I hope you still enjoy them even though they are not CGC, Comics are still comics. not only do i enjoy them my friend, i envy them I was asking since i crack all CGC'ed golden age i have bought, even in the 9.0-9.2 range, and i so i assumed since they are midgrade you kept them slabbed for liquity and possible resale reasons, which didnt make much sense in a PGX slab, given the "sligth" market favouring of CGC. Offcause if you sent them in yourselfes you would allready have had that experiecence. Keep them coming I know if i had them my cracking fingers would itch for holding the raw beautiful pages in my steady hands
  3. Am i the only who thinks they look nicer than the PGX designated grade on the slabs? which fits well in the observation that they were tigh as H.ELL on midgrade books ..

  5. Congrats on that sweet pickup from Doug... I was the underbidder I need to get myself a Pac Coast me too. *,,and as we watch the Pac Coast stampede in action, we must wonder at just who will have the next one in their hands*
  6. why dont you then move it atleast to the GA marketplace thread Centaurman bumped ?
  7. Congrats on that sweet pickup from Doug... I was the underbidder I need to get myself a Pac Coast thought you only went for moderns... since your criteria is 9.8 you can find a few early X-men in that grade... you can always make an offer for Doug's no 1 PC copy..... i will a modest offer of 400K will make it yours Yeah tell me about it. Yes I only collect copper-modern x-men right now but my main goal in comic collecting is to have 1-300 completed in 10 years. I know... im just pulling your leg as always... fyi i am now only missing 8 issues to have that complete, but it is a big mix of CGC 8.0-9.8 and raw 2.5-9.6

  9. Thats a constructive Idea, which i fully support and probably will use myself
  10. Thanks for the kudos on the Pac Coast book, everyone. This is my first SA ped. It's kind of cool to have a book from a famous find. Anyway, I guess I got us from Phoenix's Claremont thread. Yes, Claremont was brilliant. I would say groundbreaking. I suppose that superheroes, in the 20th century, fill the same place that the ancient Greek and Roman heroes, demi-gods and gods filled in the classical age. The characters are arch-types and always bigger than life. However, what Claremont brought to the medium, more than any other, was real tragedy. The tragedy of Jean and Scott is as significant of a legend to me as the stories of Achilles or Oedipus. Unfortunately, I have not read a lot from the more modern writers. I will look for TPBs of the writers mentioned on this thread. However, the two that I love are Frank Miller for the Dark Knight series and J. Michael Straczynski for ASM. Brilliant! When it comes to modern books, I would like to talk about the art! My favorite is Greg Land's Phoenix Endsong. The story is told in images. The dialog and narration are secondary. CycleGirl That Phoenix image is sweet... I love her ...i mean it
  11. Congrats on that sweet pickup from Doug... I was the underbidder
  12. That is one nice book! was bidding on the restored 0.5 that was married with wrong BC on heritage recently, but finally decided i had other priorities with my GGA
  13. KDF is all done, but I wasn't sure if the numbers were relevant to anyone but myself and possibly Lou Fine. It's a pretty esoteric series. If people are interested I'll put a bunch of additional scarcity rankings together for posting later. Uhhhh.. HELLO! I have found the scarcity rankings you have made so far darn informative and entertaining... keep em coming
  14. Ditto...gotta give a shout out to Roger for some new additions to the Cole collection!! I love the suspense
  15. And for those who does not read the crack thread... the crippen copy of jungle comics 92
  16. VERY cool. Thanks for doing the legwork required to get this project done. I'll definitely be buying it. Where can I preorder
  17. Looks like it payed off. great looking book, and first time i have seen it.
  18. Yes, great times indeed. I can't think of anything more fun than cracking comics so valuable that a slip of the wrist would result in forfeiture of all my personal assets! The dangers and thrilling adventures of comic collecting are often discarded by the ignorant feable minded mob! But Wow... i would dream to be present (not daring to participate) at the cracking party of a GA 9.4 church book. I can imagine the feeling holding the freed book in your own hands for the first time
  19. Here is a slightly better scan that captures the colors a little more accurately. That's a great book you have there. I wish I'd had the cash or trade bait to pry it out of Win's hands after he upgraded, but alas, I had neither. At least it went to a good home. Who needs cash or trade. I just pointed a gun at him. If i would ever buy a GL book, it would be this one Great book
