  1. Hey all...just tried to send a PayPal payment to a comics dealer from funds in the bank linked to my PP account, but I kept getting a "card denied...try again with another source" error, even though I wasn't using a credit card, and had clearly selected the "bank funds" source (and yep...there is plenty of $$ in the bank account to cover the payment). I plan to contact PayPal later this evening when I get home from work. In the meantime, has anyone else ever seen this? Thanks!
  2. Meet the new boss...same as the old boss...
  3. Music for me...been playing in rock bands, on and off, since the early '80s, but gave up live shows completely in 2011. Since then, I've done some studio work, recorded lots of demos in my small basement studio, and am currently finishing my first "solo" EP in a professional studio with a local producer and a rotating cast of players. So "passion"? Yes, I suppose. Fun? Not exactly...
  4. My friends and I traded comics all the time as kids back in the '70s, and it was fairly simple: if somebody had a book I wanted, I had to pony up the right books to get it...and vice-versa. Up until a certain point in time, that's all there was to it, and it never had ANYTHING to do with "what the book was worth" monetarily -- I mean, they were all worth the 20 or 25-cents we paid for them, right? Content/story/art/need-it-for-a-set ruled the day. Of course, that all went to hell the moment we discovered the OSPG, and a few early comic books stores which were selling back issues for more than cover price...
  5. Gotta say...the comic book chicks didn't really cut it for me as a kid, not with Laurie Partridge, Agent 99, and Karen Valentine's character in "Room 222" on the tube...!
