  1. i asked my lcs. he said if i buy 50 copies, i can buy and have all 3 variants (the 2 1/25, and the 1 1/50). so, what do you guys/gals think the prices on these are going to run? is it worth it to just buy 50 copies of a book that will retail for $4.99? i assume i'll be able to buy them at whatever price the lcs buys them for.
  2. i'm sure it could, at least to some degree, but it would be akin to taking kobe off the lakers. sure, it'd still be good, but it'd be missing that spark. rick is the most developed character, of course he's also the main character and leader, and also maybe the only real developed character. michonne is, to me, the next best character, but she's too mysterious. carl is too hot headed, young, and occasionally unlikable, to lead the book. abraham is great, but only as a second fiddle (no offense).
  3. Fixed that for ya. Kirkman though, continues to write an amazing story, and you can clearly see from the development of his characters and story, that he cares very deeply for this title.
  4. my newest WD art piece: http://splashpageart.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=18977&ArtistId=84&Details=0&From=TDetail&Type=%25&Mag=Walking+Dead
  5. no pictures yet, but i picked up detective comics #336 & #411 from earth 2 comics in van nuys ca. $40 each and they're both VF+.
  6. I got into WD when all 11 TPB were out. And reading all of them in oder a little febreeze will kill that odor.
  7. where did everyone start getting tony moore sketches from? and how did i not know about this? also, is anyone willing to sell one? or anything drawn by tony? he doesn't answer emails anymore, so i can't even ask about personal pieces.
  8. i'm curious to know how many people outside of serbia have one. i do. i know evilash does. anyone else on these boards? it's funny, 'cause #2 color cover is the only book i don't have at least one copy of.
  9. personally, the variant to #75 is fairly bland to me. it's just been done too many times now. but oh well. it's a variant
  10. hey guys, what's the going rate on raw, 9.6-9.8 copies of the "image holiday special 2005" book? i bought 5 years ago for $5 a piece (1/2 off cover), and now i've heard they're pushing $50. true?
  11. kirkman reads these boards, and just wanted to make you wait another week?
  12. i'd rather either not find out, or not find out until the series is at least well past issue 150-200
  13. FEB100045 BPRD KING OF FEAR #4 (OF 5) $2.99 FEB100116 BRIGHTEST DAY #0 $3.99 JAN100468 WALKING DEAD #71 (MR) $2.99 and maybe.... FEB100128 BLACKEST NIGHT DIRECTORS CUT $5.99
  14. and issue #29, page 12 & 13 starts the debate up again.
  15. depends. if it's a choice of covers, moore all the way. if it's interiors, of course i'll take early issues first, which just happen to be moore. but i'd rather have issue #19 interiors than almost any moore interiors. is that the one where Michonne arrives/ Dexter gets shot in the head? yeah. michonne is my favorite modern character.

  17. yeah, without even realizing it, i've come to really like abraham, though not as much as michonne or rick. i do wish kirkman would expand on Rosita.
  18. personally, i've always enjoyed adlard's interiors more than moore's. toni moore, though, did WAYYYYY better covers. when i went back and re-read the early issues, it struck me how different the artwork was, and i realized that while i like toni's interiors, i much prefer adlard's interiors. on the flip side, while i like adlard's covers, he has yet to match any of toni's covers (1-24), with the exception of maybe #36. #48 was nice, but toni already did that better with #6.
  19. just got back from wondercon. picked up The Walking Dead, #'s 22, 23, 28, & 33 2nd print for $2.50 each (50% off cover price). also, i picked up this poster: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b352/phournine/Phour%20Nyne%20Gallery/ZombieLastSupper-1.jpg
  20. and one you aren't going to see much of anywhere. welcome to the club.
  21. honestly, i don't think most people know how to do the spoiler thing. i forgot myself (they showed me somewhere in this thread). i wish it was an option when you post. i don't use it often enough to remember how to do it.
  22. maybe he was the easiet to negotiate with. or first one with no prior engagements. or cheapest...this is not going to be an inexpesive project by any stretch of the imagination....and its only going to appeal to a certain public sector...can't see how their gonna make this work and still maintain the comic concept...a movie may well have been a better project canvas than an ongoing tv show I agree. A movie with sequels would have been more ideal, but I remember reading somewhere awhile back that he didn't want to make a movie. Sucks. It would have been awesome and I'm sure someone big would have picked up the project. Wonder what the propaganda will be like for it as I have not seen anything yet. i may be wrong, but wouldn't a movie cost a lot more money than a tv show? movies need more promotion, plus they gotta be an instant hit to make money. a tv show can be a slow burn, since it'll get probably a whole season to grab an audience. or am i wrong?
