  1. Blech. One of the worst issues yet. The writing seems to have stalled (more like "come to a grinding halt" but I am being diplomatic here). I mean, it seems like they are just going through the motions now. The excitement of the first 48 issues is gone. The most interesting thing to happen in my opinion since issue 48 is when Kirkman gave that interview telling us a bunch of people were going to die. Then nothing happened (except for Dale getting knocked off) in the actual comic. I mean, where is this going? In the past, plot wasn't essential but we were getting a lot of character development. Now we aren't getting anything except cliffhanger after cliffhanger and that is starting to get old. I mean, the cliffhangers aren't leading anywhere! I'll continue to buy WD for a while longer- just like I'll continue to watch LaDanian Tomlinson. I just hope that both can regain their former glory. be honest...you just want more blood and death (not that that's bad), because the writing has been great. as far as cliffhangers, that's been going on wayyyyy before any of the current issues. plus, rick and carls' talk is simply great writing. kirkman has made carl 10X more real than i feel he's been at any point in the series in the last couple issues. him telling rick how he has felt is just powerful. i'd also say the "fear the hunters" story worked perfectly! i have yet to find anyone who saw it coming. everyone suspected the silhouettes holding guns were the hunters. plus, rick taking it to the hunters was absolutely gangster. one of the coolest moments in the series. but to each their own. issues 30-40 were great, but my least favorite of the series. i happen to love the book more now then then. p.s. agree 100% with LT. if we win this sunday, and beat the broncos two weeks from now, 1st place!
  2. PM sent!! dang it. i was thinking of doing that too. beat me to it
  3. Call me crazy but I don't even like that cover. That's the one WD related comic I'm not interested in adding to my collection. I didn't like the cover at first either, but I wanted one anyway - it's not my favorite, but now I like how different it is. I suppose that's the point, right? I bought my copy on ebay for $35 but I did pay to slab it too - looks like that will be a bargain. i got mine from a baord members' comic shop for $7.99 during san diego ocmic con a few years ago.
  4. wow. what i wouldn't give for a walking dead double cover. i wonder how many exist. don't think i've heard of any before.
  5. haven't seen one sell for less than $120 in a while. most in 9.4 and above seem to go for close to $175-$200 right now.
  6. people charging $40 for the agents #6 is what killed it's buzz so quick. the agents #6 is a chitty book with chitty art and a chitty story. at least capes #1 has an interesting and good idea.
  7. hell yeah. now i'm glad to have a few doubles. glad to have a full run too.
  8. death of kid miracleman. very brutal. low print run i think also. expensive book
  9. other than steve, and possible some folks in serbia, i don't know of ANYONE who has a full run (including both covers of #2 & 10). i was lucky to get 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 10 about a year-and-a-half/two years ago, and have been looking for more since. i've looked on other countries ebay sites, everywhere i could. i found nothing. these might be easy to find.....if you are in serbia. otherwise, they are next to impossible. so of course i JUMPED on the chance to get a full set (3-13) of the books steve was able to get. these are just so rare that no one really knows of them. just imagine if these catch wind..........
  10. Well, if you can pick them up for cover, they are going for $20-$30 already i just bought another copy. it's a VF, but for $2.40, i'll take it.
  11. yes, you did. someone here is selling it for $20, and even that is too much. i paid $5 for 2 copies a week ago. BUT, as long as you're happy with the book and bought it 'cause you love the series and am a completist, then it's not TOO bad.
  12. I listed it at $12 here and within 5 minutes had 2 people take it (one via PM). I thought it's something that many aren't aware of and it's showing now that the price is selling at $20. Someone needs to list the Capes #1 to let those not reading the Modern section know about it. SHHHHH.
  13. seriously. i paid 2.98 for mine. bought a second copy for 1.98. still should be bale to find some in bargain bins.
  14. goon heads...where does one start? are there any trades for the early goon appearances? what order do you read everything?
  15. sometimes it's fun to go back and see what people were saying about the book not long after it came out. i found this post from 2004. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=17&Number=466175&Searchpage=5&Main=25594&Words=walking+dead&topic=0&Search=true#Post466175
  16. well, i think someone posted 3-4 9.8's on ebay for $450. i don't know if they sold. seemed a little over priced. of course, the 9.9 is listed for 5K

  18. i know it's been posted before, but does anyone have a list of the walking dead sales numbers per issue?
  19. damn. i wish i had thought of that. i always want to get artists to do sketches, but i never see any prices listed.
  20. AUG090109 DETECTIVE COMICS ANNUAL #11 $4.99 AUG090367 WALKING DEAD #66 (MR) $2.99
  21. i work for the getty museum. museum glass is dang near invisible. it's ridiculous how you can be a few centimeters away and not be sure if it's glass or not.
  22. just bc you posted this I went ahead and check at the LCS I hit for new books now (plug time: zeus comics in Dallas... AWESOME store if you are ever in town) and they actualy had a copy of WD 50 2nd print for 3.25 in the back issue bins... mine now (thumbs u hell yeah. dope cover too. i've had fun checking all my local stores to see what they've got. I was suprised. They had issues all the way back to the teens for $5 ea. Really good shape too. And every book in the store is in a Mylite with a full back. yeah, i started looking for doubles and found issues back as far as #24 in one store for cover. got #10-14 in another store for $3.50 a piece. i found my first copy of the variant cover for $6.99 (when it came out). now if i can just find another store with a copy while not charging $40 i'll be happy. you should check out my copy of the variant....it's a 9.8 ss sketched by larsen where might i see your copy?
