  1. It was a few days ago on my iPhone as I was waking up. I'll let you know if I can scroll back down to it.
  2. The tamper-resistant case they come up with next is going to be wonderful... wonderful at devaluing all their previous cases, that is.
  3. CGC said 'a few hundred' books are affected. I like how they played it down with 'a few' hundred rather than 'several' hundred. Tip of the iceberg in any case... no pun etc etc.
  4. Incidentally, this debacle DID make the mainstream news... came up on my Apple newsfeed a few days ago.
  5. As CGC themselves have stated, there are 'hundreds' of books involved. And Hulk #181 seems to have been a scammer's favourite.
  6. Yep. "Hello CGC... here's the $100K '9.8' Hulk #181 I just cracked open. As you can see the MVS is missing. Let's talk compensation, shall we?"
  7. Thousands of free re-grades and reholders? Quite a lot. I can't give you an exact figure just yet, however.
  8. My concern is that CGC will go broke from making some very expensive amends and from the loss of trust that is snowballing right now. There's just too much heavy baggage to move forward.
  9. The last 20+ years worth of CGC'd books are unverified now in terms of their stated grades. ANY of them can be (or have been) swapped out from case to case. If the book inside is actually the grade stated, it'll need to cracked out first to verify that.
  10. Prediction: CGC goes bankrupt in 2024 (from a combination of being sued, losing 99% of their business and having to do thousands of free regrades) and a new, competent company takes over, learning from CGC's many, many mistakes.
  11. Gnarly to think how many crooks are currently self-upgrading their green labels to blue, now that the simplicity of doing so has been demonstrated. Even if only 5% of dealers are smarmy enough to do this, that's still a tonne of fraud books about to flood the market.
  12. I've seen talk of a 'micro-trimming' scandal where the micro-trimming was imperceptible. Um, so how was it perceived?? Just wondering, I missed that whole scandal entirely.
  13. So I want to crack open the 10 CGC slabs I have, loathe as I am to spend $12 on a heat gun. However, if there are in fact missing coupons or pages, that'll be my tough luck.... The only recourse is to get CGC to ... reholder them! But isn't that the problem in the first place?!? What to do?!
  14. I suppose the good thing is we no longer have to resubmit to CGC to get a reholder. We just do it ourselves for free, no pesky fees or postage costs.
  15. I got banned from this page for 4 days, finally allowed back on just now. Not sure that I was highlighting CGC's cartoonish incompetence more than anyone else...
