  1. Min. 5 years hold time for the winners of these Promise books. Better 10 years in my opinion. Anything less they could end up losing $ of selling. I'm curious to see if these multiples of guide prices can he sustained until the last of the Promise books have been sold.
  2. That's it! I'm consigning EVERYTHING to Heritage including my Joe Boxers
  3. I bet the next 9.8 copy for sale won't top that much
  4. Just got a Fed-Ex notification that my auction wins from this past Spring Featured Auction shipped
  5. Avengers #8 would reach FF #5 levels if it read "Kav the Konqueror"
  6. In today's crazy and hot market, it isn't a bad idea
  7. I've been both a consignor and buyer from CC/Metro for the past 15 years now, never had any problems. Sorry to hear a few are having problems with their customer service, I hope it gets resolved soon. Glad to read that the OP got his money back after all the debacle. Really not a good look for CC/Metro to be unresponsive to the customer's concerns. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the newer personnel working there..
  8. Seems like this thread has taken a slightly different direction
  9. Got a sealed Contra VGA 80+. Had it re-graded by WATA and now it's a 9.2
  10. The Riddler in his onesie pajama managed to trap both Batman and the Boy Blunder
  11. With that kind of $, might as well buy a 2.0 blue label
  12. Also a risk of having your package lost or stolen. Yeah so many variables to take into consideration when resubmitting.
  13. The personalized stickers that CL and CC uses nowadays are very easy to peel off leaving no residue whatsoever. I'm glad they found the right kind of stickers to put on the slabs.
  14. There's also an abundance amount of these so called hot key books up for sale in every venue, multiple upon multiples of copies to choose from. Why? Because it's also a good time to cash out now. If you can make a 100% and up profit in only a few months, why not lol.
  15. True, the pop census is low and who knows when the next copy would show up for sale. Who knows maybe after the Promise Tec 140 sells for a record price, we might see more copies up for sale shortly thereafter. It's practically a given that when an upcoming movie/tv show comes out in the near future, that these character's 1st appearance books will be gobbled up and prices will skyrocket in value. Look at prices now for JIM 85 as an example. It only takes a few clicks of a button on the internet to find out what issues are the first appearances/origin and other related keys.
  16. DO NOT TRUST THOSE FLIMSY USPS BOXES, always double box! They are free for a reason
  17. ^ It's possible once the hype levels off and eventually dies down
  18. I would value the book to be within those last two sale prices you pointed out. The problem with ebay sale prices is sometimes the buyer does not pay and I believe it still gets recorded as sold on GPA. It's also possible you can find a better deal later on. The question is, are you in a rush to add a Tec 140 in your collection? That may be the key.
  19. Nice book and congrats on the pick-up! It's really up to you whether you want to keep it in its current slab or have CGC grade it. It seems to me though that the residue on the slab is bothering you and may bother you for a long time. With that said, it might be better for you to have it slabbed by CGC. Sure PQ and grade can change as well as possible things that can be overlooked such as trimming. There will always be a risk when submitting for grading, just up to you and go with your gut feeling.
  20. That's great that your brother still owns his FF1, congrats to him! Hard to say if the cover is trimmed. Might be worth to have it checked out by a professional and get slabbed.
