  1. Saw that too. I thought that was a great buy!
  2. Today's Comiclink Auction results: CGC 9.0 - $25,950 CGC 8.0 - $16,750 CGC 6.0 - $11,405
  3. Sometimes I don't . But after seeing market trends now for the last few years, I've grown to be more patient. I definitely don't want to be catching falling knives
  4. Thanks Peter! I must say, I'm pretty happy with the price
  5. That's a mouthwatering signature line! Looks kinda similar to what I have, but missing a few issues
  6. I'm waiting to buy during the off-season, moreso into football season
  7. I expected the book to end at around that price given the brittle pages
  8. Both of those copies have marvel chipping too! I'd like to see non-chipped copies in similar grades up for auction for me to make a determination.
  9. Might be a good time to buy some nice bball cards since the market is at a huge discount compared to prices these cards were hammering between Feb-Apr.
  10. Welp, let's see your guys' wins tonight with the Comiclink Auction ending in just a few hours. Good luck to all bidders!
  11. Ugh, had a feeling they would flip em right away.. would be nice if they just held on to that collection a little longer at least...
  12. Yep comic books are no longer only known to a group of collectors/dealers, mostly everyone who has access to the internet and word of mouth can find out the true nature of their values. The word is out and more and more people are catching on. Had I bought them, I would've kept them all intact and locked up with the rest of my personal keepers. The history about them and me possibly never finding that great of a small OO golden age books is something I would've greatly treasured in my memories and collecting.
  13. While I was in line for that "Scream Collection," the estate lady handed out a typed paper history about the family who owned those books. If anyone is interested in reading about it, I can upload on here. Also, I did not come out empty handed. I managed to buy a Seduction of the Innocence book for $10. I also found out that they sold a Harry Houdini original poster to the same guys who bought the collection. I wouldve bought that too...
  14. Well I guess the only drawback with buying that collection is that you're unable to check out each book individually. What if there are pages missing, brittle pages, etc. If someone is going to spend that kind of $, they for sure have to check them out, or randomly check some if time is of the essence. So kinda a risk vs reward scenario. The dealer that bought it basically paid, had it packed up and drove away.
  15. Yep thats it. When I talked to the lady she said she was selling all for around $14,800 or something like that and that she was taking reasonable offers. I can't imagine that the buyers even negotiated at that price. I would've paid for that, possibly more. I wish they took offers from all interested parties
  16. Welcome back to the club Dan! Yeah I know the feeling of not having an AF #15 in your collection.. It was a big hole for me too, but luckily managed to buy another copy.
  17. Missed out this morning on an estate sale where the owner has around 100 pre-code horror books (Crime Suspense Stories, Tales from the Crypt, Shock Suspense, Fear, Vault, etc.) Apparently the guy who was first in line (also a dealer) spent the night there outside in front of the house. Sold instantly . There were not 1.. not 2.. but 3 copies of Crime Suspense Stories #22. Yeah I'm pissed and thought I had a chance...
  18. Yea I never buy from new board members who just signed up only to sell books and not want to contribute to any threads. More likely than not, they're trying to scam. I only do business with fully pledged boardies.
  19. Damn and I had a chance to buy a 7.0 earlier this year for 22k
  20. Man I used to enjoy collecting these cards as a kid. My favorites were the 92 Masterpieces and the 95 Fleer Ultra Spider-man you see above. I had complete sets with holos, I dunno what I did with them
