Ugh and I should've kept my beautiful 1.0 copy that I bought back in 2011. Probably worth $45k or more now

Both of those asking prices are fair, not overpriced at all. Buy what you want, no one can predict the market or what may turn into a better investment. I just know that key Marvel books in general are good investments.

I hope he's ok knowing he just sold a roughly million dollar book. Can only hope he didn't get murdered on whatever the collection was purchased for. Probably, but I believe his widow may have sold all the books. Dunno how much she knows about comics, but I really hope she did get a fair price, probably not the price the actual collection is worth. Maybe she was happy with what she got.

It's an insane collection, I dunno how many total books probably around 3,000 or more spanning every genre it seems. The OO went to high school in the same high school I went to and he was born in the same area I'm living in today. I may have to pick up some of his books in SDCC.

Awesome book and congrats on the pickup! First time you posted pix of the book, I already knew in my head that it was previously restored based on how the defects look. Was surprised that even a Moderate amount of resto. could be removed safely in a way. I always thought slight resto. only and anything more than that is complete destruction. Probably one of the few exceptions of moderately restored copy.

Been to the shop a few times. Great variety of silver age and bronze. They did have a few GA books, one that stood out was a Tec #2. Talked to Jud a couple times, he was very nice and he did mention he had a bunch of GA keys at one point which I think he sold.

The best book in the planet.. PERIOD!

Or maybe with so many battles, the T that was engraved may have lost its engraving. Or change of belts because he gained weight? Surprised no one back then asked about this in the Dear Stan letters.

Looks like the same book to me. So what if the book was simply under-graded at the time it was a 9.0 and now graded correctly without say a press, then what? It seems to pop up all the time that just because a book was previously graded lower and now it's back but in a higher grade that automatically we assume it's been pressed in general not always. We've seen books graded harshly and loosely so without actually knowing if the book was pressed, can't automatically assume that it did. Judging from the scans, it definitely looks better than a 9.0.

I'm with Gator on this. Booze and women are a good mix!!!
