  1. The Zilla4f prices are not the norm., check the Zilla thread in the General forum
  2. I believe they give the grade on the better of the two, not the interior (just most of the time the interior is better). I think there is a pic. in this thread that shows one that has the interior creased so it received a lower grade. It's a complete comic either way with an extra cover. I don't think the grade should matter on the cover if it's interior or exterior.
  3. Nice items. I've got a copy of the original MM#1 blue edition, I've posted the certificate on the boards before.
  4. So with my leftover guts I alternated the pages right side up and up side down and come out (since the top and bottom holes lined up, which I don't think is usual) with this Frankenstein (Frankenbook) concoction. (By the way, I ended up popping the centerfold at the staples taking these pics.)
  5. So after reading that there is ANOTHER eBay seller releasing fake manufactured multiple cover error comics, I tried it myself. I've been collecting them when I can afford them, but have suspected it might be easy to make fakes for some time now, so I wanted to see how hard it would be. (Note, this copy is not for sale and if you see it for sale). I'm also finishing putting together a double guts version (that wouldn[t be possible with a manufactered error the way I'm doing it and I'll show you later why). I found a copy of a comic I have many multiples of (it's a title that nobody is going to loose sleep over), found a few copies that have the staples in the same location so the covers would match up. Used a couple of tools to unfold the staples back to just under 90 degrees and pulled the staples out. Put two covers over each other and made sure the holes lined up and put them back together. I'm sure if I put some tape over the tools it would be very difficult to detect it the staples have been removed. Another indicator may be that the guts hang and inside cover hang out past the outer covers. My best guess would be to see if the holes where the staples are are look "unnatural". Here's my result (for educational purposes only). So be warned when purchasing multiple cover comics that they may be faked...
  6. Kudos to you for a well graded Freak Bros #1 (arrived home to find it today) (thumbs u You're welcome, thanks for payment. (thumbs u
  7. Kudos to BUBBAGUMP for the well packaged (to the extreme) OS guide.
  8. Thanks ArAich for the nice Fantasy Quarterly #1 for a fair price and quick shipping....
  9. In other related Punisher news... http://www.tmz.com/2008/03/26/thomas-janes-post-dui-debut/
  10. The movie Punisher 2 should be coming out soon.
  11. I received this info. via e-mail from another eBay seller (Barrington O. Levy "blmodirect") "A few days ago, I received an email from Joe (a double cover error connoisseur) regarding some recent trouble he had with a seller on eBay, and I'm forwarding this information to you. I can tell you that I have every confidence in Joe's ability to detect fakes and grade multiple cover issues, but you can decide for yourself. Here's the link to his documented issues with eBay seller thanos*titans: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2269 619&page=0&fpart=97 Click here if the above link doesn't work. Scroll down to the post by DoubleCovaBrotha to read about Joe's findings." Think the link is wrong though. Funny I've done business with GIJoed a couple times before but didn't get any e-mail from him...
  12. Would be interesting if they made bags with a thick backs (as suggested) to act as a backing board, then use the archival paper inserts between the front cove and 1st page, one in the centerfold and one between the last page and the back cover. No more backing boards needed to cover the back cover and all the board manufacturers would switch to the preservation paper inserts. Remember that the resealable stick part goes on the back and not on the flap.
  13. Most are an unintentional error during binding, two covers get stuck together and when stapled there are now two covers on one issue.
  14. At least this one isn't $1,000 and if it only has one bid then the seller sold it for less than grading fees. But this is a SCAM if anyone hasn't read the thread from a couple weeks ago.
  15. Nice one...(let me know if you ever want to let it go).
  16. No link in this thread to the other thread the also covered this topic? Might be helpful for newbies (if someone wants to do a search and post it)...
  17. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120220585573&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT&ih=002 3 minutes left, someone's gonna have a nice one.
  18. Seeing all the different prints of High Times #1 on eBay selling for around $35 to $100+, I thought I would post some items I've noticed on this issue. Seem most note 2 main printings the one dollar and the $1.50 variants. But I've found at least 4 printings and my 1st print is not actually a 1st print, but probably a 2nd print. 1st print appears to have "one dollar" cover price, "Premier Issue" in the corner and Summer 1974 under the H. 2nd print appears to have "one dollar" cover price and "Premier Issue" in the corner (my copy has the yellow subscription envelope still bound in). 3rd print appears to have "one dollar" cover price (with much more space between the High and the Times). 4th print appears to have "$1.50" cover price and "Premier Issue Collectors' Edition" in corner. Here is the copyright notice on page 2 (UG page 4), with my 4th print above/on top of my 2nd print below. Anyone have any further info. or corrections?
  19. A bit disappointed today with this one, it's a NM copy, but the double cover is manufactered this way, the outer cover is a very glossy stock and the inner one is a regular stock with the same inside front and outside front cover.
