  1. I don’t know if it’s common knowledge, but Trina Robbins (used to be known as Trina Petit) and Heidi Saha were inspirations to Vampirella. I don’t know how she felt about that though as I have been informed she would not answer questions regarding Forrest Ackerman in interviews.
  2. It’s being reported that Trina Robbins has passed away.
  3. Been so long since I posted in this thread I started so I figured I'd post something. Sadly Justin Green passed away on the 23rd of April. Seems there's still a lot of interest in the Ebon comic book. Seems the prices are still high for this one. I didn't think the Freak Brothers animated series was that bad, either did others because it's been renewed for a 2nd season. Hello all...
  4. S. Clay Wilson passed away yesterday, posted by his wife Lorainne today on facebook.
  5. Was wondering why I hadn't seen Frank Stack posting for months now and checked on this facebook pages to see people posting that they hoped his eyesight would return soon. Anyone know what happened?
  6. So the R. Crumb personal signed copy of Zap Comix #1 (Plymell) sold for $27k yesterday. The Slow Death #2 (Silver) sold for $1,440.
  7. From Dona Corben: It is with great sorrow and loss that I must share the sad news that Richard Corben died Dec 2, 2020 following heart surgery. He will be missed tremendously by his family, his friends, and his fans. Richard was very appreciative of the love for his art that was shown by you, his fans. Your support over the decades meant a great deal to him. He tried to repay your support by working diligently on each piece of art going out to you. Although Richard has left us, his work will live on and his memory will live always in our hearts. I will continue to conduct sales of Richard’s art through the Corben Studios website at corbencomicart.com. I will also be managing the ongoing process of publishing his work internationally. Please give me and my family a little time to collect ourselves and we’ll get back with you in 2021. Dona Corben
  8. Just read that Nicola Cuti passed away on the 20th of February this year. While he didn't make much of an impact to Underground Comix, his Moonchild series made me remember his name, and First's E-Man series from the Comic Books of the 80's that I used to collect makes me recall his name for the high school period of my life. Makes me all the happier I purchased a copy of the Monnchild series he reprinted into one book several years ago.
  9. Read that David “Dave” Geiser passed away suddenly in his sleep on Wednesday the 14th of this month, he was 72. He was married to actress Mercedes Ruehl and they had one son together.
  10. Chuck's latest newsletter says he's finally going to be listing Undergrounds at Mile High. Here's a video someone shared on facebook that may be of interest.
  11. Just came across this recent one today. A 2020 sequel to the 1979 Hyper Comics. Stiles sadly passed away this year. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08F6Y3V3D/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
  12. It jumps from part 1 to part 4, where's part 2? Part 3 seems to be posted, but you have to search for it, but no part 2.
  13. Check the Fogel's Underground Comix group on facebook, post by Lyd Max.
  14. I just saw that Arnie's kid is posting Undergrounds selling them for his father on facebook. Anyone know what's up with that? Is Arnie doing OK?
  15. With the FB series coming out soon on Netflix and this particular special copy, I'm surprised I saw this listed on eBay and it's been there for a week. Guess these are tough times? Arnie, weren't you looking for a copy of this? Or did nobody notice? ComixJoint may have not since he didn't put it in the description, as I would think that would be a definite selling point. Or maybe it'll be gone next time I check? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fabulous-Furry-Freak-Brothers-1-1st-Printing-1971-CGC-8-0-Top-25-All-Time/143644342860?hash=item2171deba4c:g:MlEAAOSwc2le-S21
  16. Anyone know what issue of Asterix is coming out tomorrow seen in the beginning of this video on facebook? If you're not familiar with the French comic book character, the most popular comic book in the world by far last year. https://bleedingcool.com/comics/cover-asterix-and-the-chieftains-daughter/
  17. If you've got Amazon Prime. Check out the new documentary about Mike Diana "Boiled Angels", nice seeing Jay Lynch talking about underground comix in it.
  18. I've got a few of Eastman's pre-TMNT items like some issues of SCAT somewhere in my collection.
  19. This one is labelled #5 so they must have finally come out with more than the one. Seems there's no pictures, but over 50 pages of type written prices. They must have had ten thousand+ of pieces of OA. Just a rough est. on the catalog, each page must have about a couple hundred pieces listed x over 50 pages. Stephen Bissette confirmed he traded art with Stephen Donnelly.
  20. Has anyone posted one of these price lists here? Probably pretty interesting for people to see the prices for Original Art from 30+ years ago. I found one yesterday going through my stuff and was surprised at some of the asking prices back then for original pages. The price list is over 50 pages long typed, so too long for me to post here. One stand out that caught my eye was under ERNIE COLON. SAVAGE SWORD: Complete 50-page unpublished story "Feeders from the Sky" in full pencils and partial inks. This was the last story Roy Thomas, Ernie Colon and Tony Dezuniga did for Marvel Comics. Adapted from the Robert E. Howard story "Next Semerkeht". $1,000. Was this ever finished and published?
  21. Was just watching Ciao Manhattan (1972) movie and about 13 minutes in a character is reading an issue of Insect Fear.
  22. Who watched today's TMZ? Had a piece about the Freak Brothers series from SDCC. Adam DeVine is one of the people doing the series. In L.A. they repeat this evening's episode tomorrow at 1pm on Fox.
  23. So, is it now time to start picking uip those Freak Brothers #1 (1st print)? https://www.forbes.com/sites/dbloom/2019/07/12/fabulous-furry-freak-brothers-to-fly-flag-in-animated-series/amp/?fbclid=IwAR33RsM3ew0onNVKXOnUbZI0rcY8cQI_RUC990Favt_UwRp6_Ek7Z2F5CYk
  24. Anyone looking for a copy of Cobb's ColorVision, Ron is selling file copies from himself on eBay Australia. Shipping adds a bit ot the price, but still under $100 for one direct from him.
  25. Here's what we can assume for now. Hup (1st print) by Panter in 1977 (light blue on lower half of "HUP" on cover) (probably the first "Xerox" underground comix book?) https://www.printedmatter.org/catalog/tables/1088/42164 Hup (2nd print) printed by George DiCaprio with Panter's approval (early 80's?) (no blue on lowe half of "HUP" on cover, one interior page has a "6" within a circle on ithe edge) The AH (1st print) by Panter in 1979. (no signature on top of interior page) as seen on Robert Williams copy at the 1:30 mark: (note, Williams states that The AH is the first Xerox Underground Comix, but I believe he was unaware of Panter's previous Hup from 1977. He discusses how he and S. Clay WIlson came up with the response to The AH with Yama Yama / The Ugly Head in 1981. I suspect the DiCaprio printed the Yama Yama / The Ugly Head, would love to hear if that's so and if so, what DiCaprio had to do with getting these out? Was he the one telling Williams about the public response to get him riled up with S. Clay?) The AH (2nd print) by DiCaprio? in early 80's? (pencil Panter signature on inteior page top that's been "copied" with the printing. (This could probably be seen as an unofficial printing, with Penter's approval.) The AH (3rd print) miniture The AH (4th print) microscopic The AH (5th print) glossy high quality printing by Wright Litho (no longer in business) in 2003. Pee Dog #1 (1983) (black ink on white paper, mini) Pee Dog #2 (1st print) (1986) (deep red cover version) https://hey-ho-outside-affiliatelinksnotallowedtumblr.com/post/117372888582/last-night-i-stopped-by-to-check-out-my What is the Pee Dog #2 version with red and black in on white paper? (I think it's part of the 1st print? Is the all red cover version above a limited signed version?) https://www.ebay.com/itm/vtg-Pee-Dog-2-underground-mini-adult-comic-1986-Jay-Cotton-Gary-Panter/163581025483?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Pee Dog #2 (2nd print) (20xx) (Green paper with black ink in 2009 by Picture Box, 500 copies, there was also a special edition of 10# and signed copies each with unique pornographic covers) There were some small mini Pee Dog's also made, little info. on those is available. Here's one example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pee-Dog-underground-mini-adult-comic-1982-Cotton-Panter-signed-handmade/113675214695?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
