  1. When I was collecting back in 2006-2008 there was no such thing as a CGC 9.8 with a spine ding other than very rare occasions. This made it harder to obtain many ASM CGC 9.8s. Some of them were basically flawless and could have been potential 9.9s. Having owned 8 ASM 9.9s to compare with some of the old 9.8s it was something else to see. The 9.8's that are given that grade these days........ well let's just say you better take a look at what's in that case if you plan on cracking it to get it signed prior to purchase. Even the best 9.8s can still have damage occur in shipping and possibly handling from artist or people cracking handling book. To be fair my 9.8 retention rate is very high with sending in the best of the best 9.8s so kudos to CGC for the most part on handling my books and the artists handling them but I agree the older books do seem to look much better in comparison to some that have been graded in the last few years.
  2. Had the same thing happen to me after not selling anything for over a year. Kind of ridiculous having to use your own money to ship out everything. I think it's based on inactivity on your ebay account time duration. If you've sold recently probably doesn't happen type of thing. Some option to get partial funds to ship things exists I believe too but still ridiculous. Funds should be released if your account is in good standing however I can understand the policy considering the many and SO MANY hi-jacked EBAY accounts selling books that they don't have. So there's that.
  3. Guys I love you all and appreciate all your thoughts. Don't turn this thread into a lock tho. I skipped the last 2 pages.I know it's NYE but keep it not locked.

  6. Happy New years to all and for those thinking that ppl don't look or pay attention........ maybe read the last 200 + pages. The reason this was uncovered was from collectors. Good job you all. This is a pretty darn good community .
  7. I've never seen that one before. Beautiful book. Think the first one I started post with was close to timeline. Guess only collecting certain books prior to internet made alot of us just not see some books. I bought most of mine newsstand and only hit the comic shop once a month maybe.
  8. Everyone entitled to their own opinion sir so I respect that but there was a website up forget what it was but it was a community way back where you could post comics and collections and he was on there and I had him on my friend list. He was nice to talk to.
  9. @WestcoastDAVEngers has a cool Eric Larsen interview on his vids too. There are some good youtubers out there. Glad to have seen these guys get the ball rolling on this.
  10. I really enjoyed watching @WestcoastDAVEngers and Newsstand 9.9's video but after that alot of them fell short of anything I'd want to watch with one youtuber claiming as if he found something himself that @comicwiz uncovered in this thread Not a bad thing for people to post their videos though in reality as it'll get more people paying attention to what they buy. I'm just not going to watch too many myself.
  11. If you do read the entire thread make sure to stay tuned to the multiple ' Hey guys. I haven't read the thread yet ..... but what I think is happening is they're switching out the labels not the books" Think we got 4-5 of those in the thread. The Easter Eggs of the thread. No real reward though. Actually you'll get a no-prize.
  12. Good money for those books regardless. I was joking about the 1000 unless he does have that many He had more than everyone else. Let's just say that
