Wonder if they will hire Liefeld
They contacted him but he couldn't foot the bill.

People are upset about this now... wait until shipping companies start reporting insured values on shipments to the IRS.

Filing an LLC is less than $100 just about everywhere and shifts the tax burden to your LLC, removing your income bracket as a factor in the tax equation.
Or so I've been told by multiple people with business tax knowledge.

Honestly this is ridiculous that CGC is basically allowed to do whatever they decide in these situations with no legal responsibility or hard rules to follow.
To my knowledge, zero other industries allow the company to temporarily take possession of your goods and not be legally responsible for the damages.
I asked CGC months ago to clarify their damage policy for my business plan and they still haven't answered. I stopped submitting due to that and (mainly) horrible, unaddressed quality control issues.
Industry leader, indeed.
Not for long at this rate.

I think on your older books, 1980s and back the crack and resubmit % is closer to 10% of the census.
On newer stuff like UF4, NM98 and ASM 300 I would bet its closer to 20%+.

So if CGC labels a book one way and Marvel announced the same thing another way, how many fanboy heads would explode?
Just the CGC ones.

You can disagree that Marvel announcements have a direct, immediate and large impact on the comic market but I'm going to stick with the years of evidence that shows they do.
Outside of Adam/HIM, is there any more contested first appearances than what is around the symbiotes?

But if these "facts" are alerted/created by a ret-con they are no longer valid.
Retconning has been going on a long time and is accepted in the market. Marvel has a direct impact on the market with their decisions.
If Marvel announced tomorrow that ASM 252 was now the true 1st appearance of Venom with their Dylan arc, the market would see an immediate drop from 298/299/300 and 252 would be well on it's way to being a 5k+ 9.8.

Only if you're a pedantic fanboy.
People who try to argue with the facts that the people who own the rights to things create could also be called the same.

By that logic, ASM 252 is the first Venom.
Could easily be, but that opens up another debate: was the symbiote ALWAYS Venom or did Spidey getting rid of it create the hate that led to that personality emerging/being created?
Either way, Dylan being Venom should redefine Venom's first appearance.

We don’t see venom in 298. We see a hidden Eddie Brock with black stuff crawling up his arm. That’s not a first full appearance
The black stuff IS Venom. Dylan getting the symbiote and still being called Venom should put to rest all the opinions that ONLY Eddie + Suit = Venom.
Marvel has said otherwise and they are really the only authority on it since it is their creation.
Web #18, first appearance.

For pure spoof comedy, Monty Python's Life of Brian is nearly perfect and was wayyy ahead of its time on some social commentary. It still has me rolling every time I watch it.

How many of these are allowed before the company will address it? From a fb group.
Sure everyone makes mistakes, but these are critical errors that just keep being allowed without CGC addressing them and their reputation keeps getting worse and worse.
Nobody should think errors like this are acceptable from the "industry leader".

People are weird

This reminds me of some fast food places actually charging more for a value meal than buying all the stuff individually.
Taco Bell used to be the worst on their 99 cent menus, you could get the meal for $2.99 or all 3 items individually for 99 cents each, or $2.97 total. McDonalds had it on several of their meals too for a while after their dollar menu came out.
People don't usually like to math.
