It's not up to him to prove his innocence.

It's up to Seth Abramson to prove his guilt.....which he hasn't done.

This isn't a court of law, we all know the court of public opinion isn't innocent until proven guilty. He is by no means required to provide them but if everything is legit as he claims then he should provide them to restore confidence.

  2. Theres a whole lot of smoke around this for there to be no fire.

Having a little knowledge of actual behind the scenes journalism from a close friend in it a long time, I can almost promise you that several independent investigations are currently ongoing at multiple news agencies and they aren't limiting themselves to Heritage and WATA.

I'd love to see the communications of those involved over the last week or so.

Maybe we will at some point... 🙂

Tries to offend; says “no offense.”   Lol

When I read things I know to be falsehoods, I don’t like it.   Do you?

Ive pointed out several clear errors in the reporting so far, so you’ll excuse if I want an actual journalist and not a YouTuber to report before I reach any conclusions.

I'm sorry but are you saying Seth Abramson isn't a credible source? This is beyond a youtuber and leads me to think you haven't read the latest article that lays out just a couple of his many credentials as well as gives some of his credibility specifically in the sealed and graded video game market.

Heritage Auctions Comments on State of Video-Game Marketplace
    Press Release...

    Heritage prides itself on transparency,...

...Heritage Auctions settled for $1.2 million to avoid protracted litigation and admitted no wrongdoing...

...This settlement had nothing to do Heritage Auctions.

A genuine question here, and please just take the question at face value: who is the victim of this "alternative asset class" creation if, going by the video and the substack, this is a group of wealthy guys getting richer off of another group of wealthy guys who no one has heard from and who, it is somehow assumed, are being bamboozled, despite the fact that this information was already out there for the gathering?

This is a great question. The victim here, if there was premeditated collusion towards market manipulation (yeah a big if), is the average citizen who was never part of the collectible video game market before, saw one or more of the articles on the explosion of value, and decided to buy into it for a few thousand dollars worth because, hey, it's on CNN/Fox/etc so they must have researched it.

Without the (assumed) manipulation and broadcast of that propaganda, they would have never considered investing in that market.

The only question that would remain in that scenario is how much responsibility do they bear for just investing from a news article and not doing full due diligence? 100%? And if it's not 100%, then you are into an area with potential legal and/or civil consequences for the parties involved.

The pop report is one thing, that’s a business decision.

But Is eBay going to start releasing the names of winners because some auctions have had questions around them?

Doesn’t every major auction house keep that information private?    Doesn’t heritage’s make an offer program rely on people not knowing who won a given auction?    On some level doesn’t the fact that they hold all the cards with respect to information underpin their entire business model?

I agree that everyone has been doing it and Heritage isn't unique to anonymous wins, but given the information coming out, the market now seems primed for any auction house, but especially Heritage since they are named, to come forward with a new business model and say full transparency from now on with all wins.

I know I would be dealing exclusively with any auction house that did that now and I would bet my collection that I would be among many others who would do so as well. They might lose one or two people who like selling anonymous but it would be a small minority I think.

Also credit where it is due to you also, Bronty. Many would have went silent but you are out here providing credible and important information to what went on and I appreciate it.
