are the scratches on the outside or the inside?

here's what I see. two long intersecting diagonal creases lower half f.c. and one smaller crease lower f.c. fairly long scratch f.c. coming through the W and the K f.c. You have a tear on the top edge b.c. and the bottom edge b.c. Back cover lower corner crease/bend. looks like some possible moisture ripping lower corner back cover and some edge tears. the killer is that stain or whatever it is back cover by the top staple. 4.5/5.0 ?

6.0 there is just too much going on at the top edge. That spine top corner has quite a bit of wear on it. Lots of stress lines all across that top edge but the size of that diagonal crease is significant. Book still has great color and appeal.

That tear on the b.c. looks more like 3/8" than 1/8" to me but whatever. The cutter tears and chipping on the right edge I dont believe are knocked down so much as its coughed up to production defects. This looks like a pretty solid book. Not alot of edge wear and creases and it has good color and looks pretty flat. I would give this a minimum of 5.0 no way this is a 4.5 in my book as there is just a big lack of surface wear and corner creases that are present in a 4.5. 5.5 would not be out of the question for me, but I can't see real well with this mask and glasses on.

Bob, we both have been around this hobby for decades. I know what you're saying but I won't give PGX one inch with all the krap they've been involved in over the years. 4.0 would be a bit of a stretch for me, and I can't stretch far anymore. Now stop by for a Bush Lite sometime.

Been looking for a decent copy of this book. This isnt it. LOL 5.5 not in my book. I'll stick with CGC.

It is much easier if you take the book out of the bag. Give a full cover scan or a pic of the front, and back covers and try not to crop them or shoot pics at too much of an angle. I softens any creases or cover damage. if you want to shoot different pics of certain areas of the book to show specific defects thats fine but always include a full front, and back pic, otherwise its like trying to piece a puzzle together. Can't grade half a book. A shot of the center fold is nice too, and mention any unseen defects. Inner cover tanning, coupons clipped, staining, torn pages etc.

I hope that book turns, and they catch that s.o.b. that took it. he needs a good padlocking.
