  1. Well, it all depends on your personal preference. If you were asking from a financial point of view then it would be worth it for a valuable book but I'm very doubtful that it would be financially worthwhile for this book. If you're asking from a collecting perspective then it's entirely down to what you prefer. If you really have a desire for your books to have matching labels then you might find it worthwhile but if the book itself is what you focus on then I'd just leave it like it is. Personally, price stickers bug me so I wouldn't have got a book with a price sticker on slabbed but that's just me.
  2. I don't know what the print runs were but they were certainly a small fraction of the cents runs. Also of significance is that generally there was a much smaller percentage that were carefully looked after once purchased due to less of a collecting mentality in the UK compared to the US leading to an even smaller percentage of high grade copies.
  3. I learnt something new, didn't know about Eagle reprinting Tales Of Asgard.
  4. He needed the room to fit more comics in. I know you were joking Garry, but that is the truth. I am only getting rid of duplicates and only VG and below, these are overspill from all the collections I bought and stripped back in the day. Most of this stuff has no monetary value other than great stories to read and I hope by giving them away, someone will read and enjoy them instead of them taking up my valuable space. I was inspired by DR.X who was giving away coverless stuff a few months ago and a few others were commenting at the pointlessness of keeping loads of drek. It is not the beginning of the end Henry, I promise, I just need to get my main comic room in order and to do that I need to move some stuff out to get more stuff in and I do not want the stuff coming out to get mixed in with the drek. Answer = Bye Bye Drek. Good on you, mate.

  6. Not a hoax, not a dream, not an alternate universe, Kevin has actually got rid of 20 long boxes. Only another four thousand long boxes to go.
  7. I got the impression that there was a bump but it's back to being pretty de-bumped again, now.
  8. Is there ever a time when you're not drinking?
  9. X Men # 141 & 142 are showing as going up in value significantly on GPA and I've had several enquiries from people looking for copies.
  10. Photobucket is another option and is the one that I use.
  11. Good threads aren't that easy to find these days. I did enjoy the "plot hole" thread started by Andrew. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6235296&fpart=1
  12. Hotflips will be at London SuperCon. Always got on OK buying stuff from comicjohn.
  13. Welcome to the UK (and Europe) thread, Tomas. What do you collect? Im collecting Dark Horse stuff, mainly comics based on mi favorite movie franchises...mostly Aliens comics, AvPs and other crossovers with Aliens, but also Army of Darkness, etc... Here is link to my Aliens journal : http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=6044343#Post6044343 Just read your journal, good stuff.

  15. Hey Henry, good to see you here. Occasionally the football nerds get carried away with talking football. The comic nerds are making a comeback though.
  16. I class FF # 67 as "1st appearance and origin of Adam Warlock, minor appearance on last page". I class Thor # 165 as "1st full appearance of Adam Warlock". I think that both issues have great merit and that the classification of either one shouldn't detract from the desirability of the other. Too much emphasis is put on "what is the true 1st appearance". There is room for more than one stage to the beginning of a character.
  17. Yeah, Andrew's running the Comicopolis site now and he's got some great DC runs on there. I humbly suggest anyine reading this thread should take a look.
  18. BTW, at least this has caused me to check out your ebay store to see if you might have stuff to trade for a certain FF # 1.
  19. I think you might be getting me confused with somebody else. Anything above 99p for a Spawn comic is a ridiculous price. You aint kidding there! I sold 2 NM Spawn #1s a year ago for exactly 99p on eBay. Fer gawds sake be quiet, I've got a Spawn # 1 for sale. As long as its for 99p you'll be fine. But it's not NM, how much will I have to pay someone to take it?

  21. I think that Phil's right on this. It seems to me that Lance got upset by comments that weren't intended to be offensive or negative. I didn't participate in that discussion and I didn't know that Lance was the seller being discussed but I didn't think anyone was out of order to be honest. I like everyone who has posted in this whole thing and I'd buy from Lance. Maybe we should just cal it a misunderstanding and move on from there?
  22. Dunno. Back to the football and other parochial stuff. Please... don't talk about football. Buy some burly defenders in the transfer window. The only burly Defender was the Hulk, Namor and the Surfer were quite skinny.
