  1. Huge thanks to djpinkpanther67 for a superb FF # 6. A great guy to deal with, packaged the book up nice and secure and gave me a great deal considering the shipping costs. Cheers Thomas, hope you get your grail. (worship)
  2. Also, major kudos to DrewInCanada for a superb trade deal. A brilliant guy to deal with. Thanks Andrew.
  3. You're welcome Tom and a huge amount of kudos back at you. That's the third time I've bought from you and I look forward to the next few times. Thanks, you rule.
  4. Have you posted in the WTB forum? You might get lucky there.
  5. Kudos to rube11 and stronguy for some sweet Marvel slabs. Thanks guys.
  6. Kudos to nochips, for a couple of slabbed TTA;s that are reeeeaaallll sweet. Thanks mate.
  7. Superb book. You've stolen No Chips's avatar.
  8. Kudos to Cryptkeeper59 for instant payment on a bunch of books. They're on the way, Deve. (thumbs u
  9. Major kudos to trmoore54 and senbi575 for some very nice slabbed books. Both guys were great to deal with and I hope to deal with both again in the future.
  10. Well you hadn't really put it up for sale so it was a joke but I would be interested. I can't afford a big dollar book at the moment but I could stretch to some smaller stuff..
  11. It was one of my "learning the CGC ropes" mistakes. It was one of a group of books I sent to CGC in 2007 not long after I got back into collecting. I seriously thought it would get a 9.4. I know better now... I think. I think I could get $35 or $40 for it. Considering what I paid for the raw book and the slabbing, at least I won't lose anything on it.
  12. Must try to scrape together enough money for a # 52 slabbed at 9.0.
  13. I don't know Phil that well but we've chatted occasionally. I hope things have gone well for them and if they have he may just be suffering from the lack of sleep that new babies bring.
  14. Kudos to rube11 for a couple of cool FF's that I got from him.
  15. Kudos to Beachbum for a bunch of slabs which were an ebay deal really but he still deserves kudos for securely shipping them to the UK and being great to deal with.
  16. I miss the dynamic of having a giant on the cover. Giant Man/Goliath towering over the other Avengers always gave a dramatic edge.
  17. Maybe the guy who submitted the # 45 has a bunch more of them.
  18. Yes I know, but I still don't believe Alan Austin wouldn't have ever jumped at the chance to buy Action Comics 1 through 15. But what would have been the incentive of the fellow in the newspaper to lie, given that it was a topic that no one really cared much about in the early 1970s? I guess it made a bit more dramatic sounding story.
  19. It was one way of fitting all those characters that he wanted to put on the cover in for the landmark issue, with out making the cover seem too busy and overcrowded.
  20. Hmm, maybe I misunderstood the postings at the time, here: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=45806&Number=848237#Post848237 No, I am perfectly happy with them all. I have upgraded every comic I wanted to upgrade except for Girls Love 5. I had a huge list to upgrade and now there's just one comic left on it. I am more than happy with my collection. As for what I'm going to do now, I'm going to try to complete my MASSIVE HUGE ENORMOUS collection of rare DC giveaway, promo, and premium comics, NONE OF WHICH CHRISTINE HAS AT ALL !!!!! (I'd love to see her find either a Superman/Bradman comic, or a Twisted Metal comic). And before I accept her collection as complete, I need to be sure she has both "Narrative Illustration - The History Of The Comics", and "How You Can Defend Your Home", both of which qualify as bone fide M.C.Gaines All American comics, and both of which are true DCs. Maybe I misread this, but weren't you willing to concede she had a complete set if she had these 2? Hmm... PLOD, registered 18 July 08, has an opinion on a years old argument? So, you're either a shill for a previously banned member, or you're hurtling to conclusions based upon a cursory examination of ancient threads. In fairness mate, I don't think that the date that somebody registered on the boards should reflect on the validity of their comments.
  21. Wasn't this because she was a very private person who went to some effort to retain her privacy and you went to some effort to track down her private phone number? I would imagine such a reaction was to be expected in those circumstances?
  22. Good research Andrew, interesting info. (thumbs u I never get around to looking through stuff in depth very often. Interesting to see that the paterns between Avengers, X Men & DD are very similar. Now how about updating your post with the GPA average prices of each one.
