  1. To get in on the raffle, you post a prize that you are offering. That's it. There isn't a minimum value, but, you know, don't offer junk as a prize. That wouldn't be cool. After all the people are in, then there's a lottery and a pick order is determined. Then people pick in turn order, from all the prizes that were offered. It's fun. Edit: except, I just saw your post count. I don't think you've been around long enough to participate. Sorry. Double Edit: maybe that post count thing was only for the Gift exchange. You might be fine...
  2. I have deciphered the Secret Clues! Now, what are they supposed to be secret clues to again?
  3. I don't know. People might be getting tired of the "dark" "gritty" and/or "wiseass" superheroes. Possible that an old fashioned hero might actually be different enough to appeal. He speculates. It's all going to be how it's done, of course.
  4. The story of this movie was never going to be the opening weekend. Like Top Gun Maverick, it's all going to be about the legs (or lack thereof as the case may be)
  5. I figure if I throw around random posts, I'll have about as much chance to hit as if I tried to time it correctly.
  6. I actually think announcing an entire "slate" of films all at once is a mistake. It's kind of overly ambitious and/or arrogant. Just, make a good movie. And then make another one. We don't need to know or see how these projects may be "interconnected" up front. I know Marvel has been doing this for years and years now, but (and maybe my memory fails) I don't remember them doing it at the very beginning. I don't remember a grand announcement of a slate of films leading up to "The Avengers." They just kind of, did it. And people went nuts, so they've just leaned hard into that ever since. But you can't make the interconnectedness the big deal from the beginning. Remember Universal's "Dark Universe?" Big huge announcement that completely crumbled after one movie no one liked. I really hope they don't do a whole thing with a big press conference, or some presentation at a convention, introducing the "new" cast of the entire DC Universe, and showing how all these projects are going to be "connected" across Film, TV and even gaming platforms. Yuck.
  7. It was fun! You definitely have to suspend your disbelief at bit, but perfectly enjoyable. I agree it definitely appeared to be going for a Tarantino-ish vibe with the dialogue/pacing/violence. So, your enjoyment may depend on your tolerance for those things.
  8. Well, it will be more than a year before any of this "new universe" stuff comes into being. Probably closer to two. And there's a whole year of lame duck projects to release in the interim.
  9. Reading not very far between the lines, Henry Cavill too old to play Superman for their 10 year + plans. I guess he's 39 now?
  10. Hard to imagine any Black Adam spin offs at this point. I think Black Adam is very dead in the new DC universe. At least for a while. And if the character does return, it probably won't be the Rock again. Black Adam is the old DC. They are (apparently) cleaning house here.
  11. Hey hey hey! Not really my place to @ anyone, but there's just over a week left and a bunch of people who said they wanted to be in, but didn't post a prize yet. And I hate the idea someone might miss it, or worse, think they were in when they actually weren't. So, @707comics @speedcake @unclezebo @AlexH @Bird @wombat @Chaz G. @spidermanbeyond @PeterPark This is just a very friendly reminder to you! You should make a new post, and not edit the one you said was a placeholder. Also @onlyweaknesskryptonite, don't know if you wanted to participate or not, but you made a post in the thread, and I know you have in the past. So, I say, get in here! For everyone else, deadline to play is 12/21 at Noon est. It's still not too late for your chance to win Axelrod's Materialistic Weasel Award.
  12. Well, that's nice. I wonder if there's way to submit a picture of the book ahead of time to make sure that it qualifies for this? Like, I imagine different people are going to have different standards as to what constitutes an unacceptable "scratch." Edit: ah, I see scratches are still a charge, which makes sense. My questions would be more about the "debris" I guess. Got a book with a small amount of debris in the case at the bottom which does not obstruct the cover, but still bugs me a little.
  13. Also a little awkward they've got the Flash movie, and the Aquaman movie and the second Shazam movie already committed for the next year. Hard to "re-boot" anything until all that happens. I wonder why they'd bother to cut out a Cavil "cameo" in Flash, for example if they're just going to dump everything anyway. Like, what, they're afraid people will see the cameo and get hyped and then get let down when nothing else happens. If they were going to get hyped by the cameo, then, that's kind of a sign they shouldn't dump the actor, I would think....
  14. I imagine that part of the discussion happening now is whether they can/should keep the same actors in their new, re-booted DC universe, or if that just creates too much baggage, and is possibly too restrictive for the stories they want to tell in the future. Because people would just assume it's the same continuity, and they probably don't want that. But probably not that the actors aren't good enough.
  15. I agree the lag just on pages loading on the site is crazy right now, aside from the frequent "temporarily unavailable" messages. I thought there was something wrong with my computer.
