All, thanks for your feedback!
Am I allowed to ask why you graded mostly 9.0? Ignore if “bad form”.
I re-read the guidelines and probably shouldn’t have “dirtied your palette” with my grade and will put that in the left hemisphere of my brain, sorry.
Anything specific that hurt this book? Thanks again
It’s a valid question. There’s an accumulation of defects: Besides your aforementioned color breaking spine stresses, there’s tics on the BC, the top edge of the back cover has dings, the top left corner of the back cover has been slightly impacted, there’s a color transfer or soiling by the price on the front cover, there are two slight indentations on the FC between the R and O of ROM and below the S in Spaceknight. And that’s with my untrained eye, others might see more. Now some of these defects can be pressed out and others (like color breaking creases) cannot be fixed. As the book sits, 9.0 or possibly 9.2 is a fair grade.

Would love to hear others thoughts on this one. It presents really well but lots of little issues here and there. I did my best to capture them all but man it can be hard to get all the little details our eyes pick up when it is in hand
The issues you can see on the interior of the book are present on about 1/2 the pages and are only on the bottom edge as in the photos. Maybe some kind of manufacturing defect?
These are Bindery Perforations and occur as part of the manufacturing process. They do not affect the grade. 6.5

Yeah, looks like a production error. The main issue I see is back bottom left corner. Anywhere between 9.2 and 9.6 is possible.
Yes... 9.4

Thanks for the responses everyone! Can anyone give a little bit of explanation on their grades? It would be much appreciated!
This is a nice looking book.

Staple tears and the bottom staple is just holding on, if it were detached you probably would end up closer to VG. As is...5.0

Was thinking 6.5 but the consensus here is 7.0, I wouldn’t disagree with that either.

Looks to be 3”+ spine split. 3.5/4.0

Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me you built the mole machine... out of a Ford Thunderbird?
