  1. Curious about the white mark in Darth Vader’s cape on the BC. Is that just debris or is it color loss? Gouge? But color loss/flecks including on the spine, color transfer on A of Star Wars logo, some corner rub keep you in the low 9’s.
  2. Considerable oxidation shadows on front and back covers. A photo of the inside of the front cover & splash page would be helpful in assessing the amount of tanning on the cover and page quality. The centerfold gives some idea, but tanning is generally towards the outside of the book where there’s more exposure to air, light, heat etc. Likely, the BC is going to draw the grade down. But by how much? Can any experienced graders help? NG — because I’m just not sure.
  3. Hi all — Posting some books for your kind consideration... PGM ASM 50. Iconic. Nothing more needs to be said... Now that I said nothing more needs to be said I should mention that the tear on the FC is replicated on the next 7 wraps. Heartbreaking. Other than that, a nice mid-grade book in need of a good cleaning and pressing... I get paid by the ellipsis... apparently... 4. Horror. You can tell by the look of horror on her face as that little twerp Wallace is ruining her 50 Shades of Gray role playing fantasy. Safe word was Albuquerque. But yeah, really weird genre combination.
  5. Looks like a completely different book. The press absolutely improved the grade. Still has corner bend on the back cover but it is much less pronounced. Also see some spine stress still on the BC. Solid 8.5 maybe 9.0. Nice job!
  6. Very question I was going to ask until I read your post, it looks like this book has been pressed. Next observation is that it looks like the book was folded in half. Subscription crease maybe? Half inch (or so) tear over Spidey logo. Interesting that the staples are discolored on the inside and shiny on the outside, were they cleaned? Maybe not, I’m no expert on those things. After disengaging from Albert Dorne’s strangely hypnotic gaze I felt this book was in the 4.0-4.5 range.
  7. BONDAGE! Presents well, foxing on the FC and condition issues along the spine on the BC kind of sucks. But 5.0 is fair.
  8. Hi all — Posting some books for your kind consideration... PGM ASM 15 - I bought this at a show some years back, obvious flaws are the sub crease, edge wear and corner chip on the FC and edge chips and a small piece missing from the corner on the BC. Note the attempt to clean a pencil/pen mark by Spidey’s boot. Does this impact the grade? I swear it wasn’t me, they still don’t trust me with safety scissors, let alone a pencil eraser. Otherwise, it’s a nice glossy book that lays flat. The picture of the corner with the missing piece was a very fine shot of the table and not much else, unfortunately. Thanks for all of your opinions and comments... on with the show. Does a press help this book? Thanks for looking... 9. So my take away is 1) sitting on the book is not a good way to press it, 2) have the book pre-screened for pressing, 3) hope for a 5.0 but expect a 2.0, and if I get something better do a happy dance Thanks everyone, I knew this book would be interesting!
  10. Better condition than the signed copy. 9.4
  11. What a neat find! The color spot is a printing defect and generally won’t affect the grade unless it’s a very high grade book like 9.8. The stain above the H in the title and BC soiling might be helped by a C&P. That said, this book sits in the low 9’s. 9.2
  12. Marvel Super Special, man, that brings back a lot of memories... I’m with AoD, 7.5
  13. I was thinking 3.5, but that back cover... woof! So, yeah 3.0
  14. Just need one more FC pic and this post will be perfect
  15. Hi all — Posting some books for your kind consideration... PGM ASM 14 - Rough looking book, 1/2” spine split, staple tears, at some point it appears the book got folded and there’s a significant bend, cover and centerfold are firmly attached. Tape pull on the BC? Does a press help this book? Thanks for looking... 16. Also 9.2, color breaking spine crease and corner crease are unfortunate
