  1. can we sub this for this? additional candidate to add: and we need RPGs! and la la la, I'm not listening
  2. this is a pretty good list of removal candidates, the juggling one is the only one I'd be on the fence about, but I don't see it used often. Any of the non-animated gifs are pretty good candidates. Especially the Shark, Star Trek and Martini glass.
  3. you know, there's probably a few that no one ever uses that could be removed, like the shark, and that star trek one is kinda overly large and doesn't fit with the overall milieu of the place anyway.
  4. hmm, I don't have that one, but here's a few other candidates. Because we can always use MOAR GIFS.
  5. Pratchett lifted that phrase: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_you_live_in_interesting_times
  6. Eggs are a new one, but then we used to make dressing with ground venison
  7. Can we just have a board function that limits the number and frequency of posts from anyone, or can be turned on for users that really push the envelope consistently, just enough to test the boundaries or the rules, and often the boundaries of patience and good taste to the point they generate backlash and controversy that has nothing to do with comics? Then said poster would have to use their metered allotment a little more wisely. Anyone that posts more than 10-20 times a day outside of the sales board should be automatically a candidate for "that's spamming the boards" and put on a meter.
  8. I bet it still works on Windows Explorer 11! Because IE is a joke, please don’t use IE.
  9. Also, to your point that you are still logged into your CGC account but not the board: the message boards are a completely different technology platform from the CGC website, it’s probably a third party hosted suite and is bolted onto the CGC site. They pass credentials from CGC to the boards for authentication of users, and that’s where this is falling now
  10. In the past yes, but that kind of supports what I said above. Every site has to do something with their session cookies on an Apple device, but absent that Apple is going to do something to all sites that defaults to protecting user privacy unless the user has specifically opted into something. That something needs to be configured on the backend. I don’t think that has occurred.
  11. If when you mean swiping out that you are leaving it in the background and not actually closing safari as an app, then yes that would be a problem, but if you are actually closing the app, that’s no different than quitting your browser and the remember me option can’t work in that case. what I suspect specifically with Apple’s IOS is the recent change is cookie retention that requires a website to explicitly ask for you to opt into cookies. I don’t recall CGG doing this, and Apple may then be opting out of cookies that keep you logged in by default. To be frank the webhosting/web developers for this platform are not cutting edge. CGC would do well to fire them, because all their sites and domains are hosted through them, not just the message board. After the Blackstone purchase, CGC is due to upgrade a lot of things befitting a company of their size and revenue.
  12. If you use private browsing mode on a mobile device it seems like your log in session on the boards expires much more quickly. I have the same issue too as a result
  13. What’s important is the new guy uploaded 2 dozen new emojis! thanks Richard!
  14. You can choose your friends, you can choose your enemies, or they may choose you, but when you choose to put them on ignore- wow, each and every thread where some users camp out and post 20 times a day suddenly take on a completely different view.
  15. well we agree on something. If all message boards were run by the English, maybe that wouldn't be the worst thing. So long as they don't talk about silly stuff like soccer.
  16. @Get Marwood & I I see your point, and I agree with much of it, but my point is: CGC Mike, and all parties involved would like to move on. As a board member I don't require a public apology from Matt, Dena, Sharon, Richard, the lawyer guy, or anyone else. and don't assume the parties involved haven't communicated directly or indirectly with each other just because it wasn't done "publicly" I know they have to some extent. I know it's fashionable in social media to prostrate oneself and go through some sort of self flagellation exercise but is that really necessary? I'm not the aggrieved party aside from the general erosion of the boards in recent years, but the posters that remain and promote a lot of toxicity and drama bear some responsibility as well.
