  1. Actually, you can reduce my number by 100 as I sold a bunch of books earlier in the week. I currently now have 18 slabs (more pending), and about 180 raw books, bringing my current total to around 200 books
  2. WOW! Who was the seller? That's far and above the call of duty, and is worthy of commendation! Congrats on the other two, those look really really nice (thumbs u He did go above and beyond, and in the process has earned a lifelong customer  The seller was Richard Evans, AKA Mr. Bedrock
  3. Thanks DW! No, the thought never occured occured to me to ask what scanner I should use for slabs Maybe I should start a thread on this very subject
  4. Gratuitously soliciting more scanner threads merits a punch in the 'nads, Doc. Consider yourself cyberpunched.
  5. Thanks John! What did you sub? I submitted my Green Lantern #7(1st app. Sinestro) and Detective Comics 267(1st app of Bat-mite). I think both are in the 7.5-8.0 range. You haven't called to find out the grade yet?
  6. You remembered that? When I start teaming up with people to do the Economy Subs, yours will be among the first ones
  7. Nice results! Just those two? Come on, where are the stinkers? Thanks guys! Well here's the story: I always had these two pegged to sub all year. Both of the grades came out what I predicted them - FF#48 9.0 and #73 9.4. The third book wasn't necessarily a stinker. It was a #33 7.0 with WP.The best presenting 7.0 you will ever see! Unfortunately I wanted an 8.0 or better for that particular issue #... I thought it was going to be an 8.5 due to a tiny CB crease LR corner FC that I noticed doing a quick once over FC. The problem is that I subbed them at WW Texas on Saturday 10 minutes before the Con was closing up and I knew I wasn't coming back on Sunday. I hurriedly purchased a book, kinda glanced over it and turned it in with the other two. Again, I figured 8.5. The problem was I NEVER TOOK IT OUT OF THE BAG  There was a 2 1/2" Crease on the UL corner BC, in addition to a small tear. It was sold as an 8.5 to me and I ran with it. Totally my fault for not inspecting it closer. However there was a happy ending. When I found out what grade the book was I notified the seller to see if I could get a partial refund. He insisted on giving me a full refund for the book AND grading fees! There's no pic because I mailed it off as soon as it arrived! Anyways, I'm 2 out of three on my subs but I still consider myself 100% accurate so far since I never really inspected the #33 like I did the other two...I will get a better estimation of my grading prowess when I start subbing my collection a little at a time.
  8. My first CGC submissions finally arrived in the mail

  10. Kudos to blue808, Nik, topofthetotem, Heresy, Marvel25 fro quick payments! Books were shipped yesterday & tracking numbers sent Thomas
  11. I saw the thread and it seemed to me he was pimping them solely for the Con, not for the Boards....I think it would have been more appropriate to post in the dealer forum that he was going to be setting up a table at the con and if people had a want list to PM him and he would make sure he had their books set aside for when they showed up...
  12. (worship) Beautiful copy! Grade please...? 7.5 Last time I saw it Blazing Bob had it for sale on his site. Always loved that book.. Why do you tease me like that Collin?
  13. Fantastic Four New Year's Eve (Day) Sale!! I will be clearing out all my undercopies and books that don't quite meet wnat I'm looking for in terms of grade. I'm trying to complete the whole FF Byrne run in at least 9.6, so I will be selling my 9.2 - 9.4 copies for VERY reasonable prices! I will be having some nice BA's and some 9.2 Rosa copies as well... Also I might be throwing some BA Starlin books in the mix if I get a good response!
