Thank you, great avatar by the way. Motivating me to take a pic of my Hit 7.
I'd love to see your Hit 7 if you get the time to post it. It's easily one of my favorite books.

This book was a certified blue 9.2 w pages before I bought it. It was cracked out, called a 9.4 & sold to me. I (and Russ) enjoyed carefully thumbing it for a few years. I submitted it at the Chicago C2E2 show for grading WITHOUT it being pressed and you can see, it's still a blue 9.2 w. Kinda proves that you CAN (carefully) enjoy high grade copies without damaging them Once again, sorry about the less-than-great pic.
Another beauty! Enjoyed every minute of thumbing that one up raw. Pages as white as the driven snow..

Killer book Jimmy! Though Jon Berk had the cover art, your copy of the book is nicer than his. I'd say that speaks volumes as to how hard it is to find in nice shape. Well done my friend.

These days Steve, it hardly makes a difference anymore. Let's be straight here, a tiny dot of glue shouldn't get your book pistol-whipped!!! Restoration has "mostly" gotten it's unfair stigma due to people not knowing the book they are buying has restoration at the time of purchase. They tend to find out later & feel ripped-off. I'd buy this Larson Jungle in as fast a time as I can log onto Paypal & send you payment if we agreed on a price (& if it was actually, you know, for SALE) It's been said that ignorance is bliss ..... maybe ...... unless it damages a hobby that I love, then it's just uninformed individuals, poisoning something they can't either understand or appreciate. Sorry for the 2 cents brother, LOVE this book!!!
I agree. That's a wonderful copy I'd be proud to own! I've never cared for the purple label of death moniker. It paints with a broad brush implying that all restored books are the same, and bad for collectors. I find just the opposite is true with me. Restored books offer a great deal of bang for the buck, particularly the slightly restored variety. As a collector first, investor a distant second, books like Steve's Larson here often offer the chance to own a stunning example at a fraction of the blue label price. Now obviously blue label books are the best investment if that's your game, but restored books are still highly collectible, and the stigma is fading. Just check the Berk auction results if in doubt as to the value of purple these days...

Need a better photos of this one:
Photo looks just fine to me. Gorgeous copy! I love the later Zips with Black Jack, Steel Sterling and the Web the most. They remind me of the block of Adventures that have Sandman, Hourman and Starman. So much great stuff in those pages.

A fine (/very fine) job by CGC, this is the Detroit Trolley copy (an OO pedigree that they do not recognize).
Wow, what a stunning copy! Just an impossible book to find in nice shape. As I'm sure you know, the Church is only a 7.5 and highest on the census. Congrats Steve.

You outbid me on this one! Well done
Thanks pal. Apparently I outbid Richard as well. Now I'm starting to understand why it was so difficult to win anything cool..

Is there a better headlights cover? For me, maybe Spellbound 20 tops it.
No.
Full disclosure, Zip might be my favorite run on any given day, and certainly my favorite MLJ title.

So much fun to see the wins from this incredible auction. Thanks to all who have shared! I've never done so much losing in an auction in my life... I had many "must wins" as gator would say,but got relentlessly pounded into the dust with the madness of the three minute window. Since when do mid grade Larsons go for 9X guide... Anyway, I did manage a few scraps with this one being my favorite.

Stunningly rare and beautiful. I think this was one of the coolest Fox books in the auction.Well, maybe the Fantastic 3 was a touch cooler.. I used to own a low grade copy and foolishly dreamed of upgrading, but never saw another until this one. Congratulations.
