  1. Are these just copies that someone took the outside part off of? WTF? http://www.ebay.com/itm/TEEN-TITANS-NEW-52-15-COVERLESS-VARIANT-SOLD-OUT-COPY-NM-LIKE-BATMAN-ROBIN-/281046751232?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item416fb11800
  2. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUICIDE-SQUAD-NEW-52-14-DEATH-OF-THE-FAMILY-HARLEY-QUINN-COVERLESS-VARIANT-NM-/271132786742?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item3f20c60036&nma=true&si=MsMFsPWGd3jLHCEQ9Wc3PgCh%2F9A%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  3. haha! You didn't come up to me at Dragon con did you??? This Brony thing is a phenomenon. I almost feel like if i don't have a favorite pony come next dragon con i will be scorned and ridiculed. Larry's right though. This book is going to be a huge success. It does have all the right ingredients. I think it's at least worth it to buy a regular variant of the comic for 4 bucks. You might like it, and if you don't burn it with fire. For me, I'm a brony that's never collected anything in his life. I refuse to buy the MLP toys and things because what would I do with them. However, the show is amazing (at least to me) and I chose to go with the comic books to support the franchise. While I have no use for toys, comic books have their own story lines that stem off the show, which have entertainment value. Another plus is I'm just beginning to see all this other comic book franchises that I am interested in. *Insert gateway drug/comic analogy here*
  4. Unsure about that...I've only met him once during the filming of the 1st episode. I would be shocked if he hasn't watched it. He didn't come off as one of those weirdo actors who would say something like "Oh, i don't have the time to watch the show," or some such nonsense. Who knows though. I only talked to him for a few minutes, and he was on a horse. (i assume people on horses act differently than people who aren't on horses) Funny(ish) story....I met the guy who did Lincoln's stunts first, and i thought, "ok, this guy seems a little rough around the edges, but i can see him being a good Rick." (thinking that he was cast as Rick). He was a bit gruff. Then later in the day i was introduced to Andrew, and was informed that he was the actual actor. He greeted me in that british accent, and i was like "THIS guy? This is the guy that's going to be the lead? What?" Then when seeing him pull off that southern accent in the show i couldn't picture anyone else doing it. It always freaks me out to hear british or australian people pulling off a southern accent. It's tremendously impressive to me for some reason .
  5. I think the series had a lull for about 2 years starting in the #70's. Since then i feel it's been building, and the last few issues have been great. The current arc is almost in an "Empire Strikes Back" kind of mode where you just can't stand what's going on with your favorite characters and it seems like evil has won out. When Rick and company finally do prevail (or not) this series will get a ton of praise. It's building right now. We're heading toward the "Return of the Jedi" portion of the story and a plan is unfolding. (Can you tell that i watched the holy trilogy again this week??)The payoff will be sweeter the longer that Negan get's to slide his you know what down the group's throat. Whether the ultimate resolution is Negan getting his azz handed to him or Rick getting destroyed along with everyone else, it will not disappoint. Beyond that, Kirkman has introduced two new characters in Jesus and Negan that are terribly intriguing in their own respective ways. I could have watched Negan walking around being a dikk for another 20 pages and been entertained. He is the epitome of the love to hate character. Jesus was a mystery, and everyone assumed he was up to something. It seems that he might actually be a good guy, and even a possible leader of the group at some point. I wouldn't put it past Kirkman to throw a curveball there too though. My point being, how many characters have been introduced in comics the last year or so that have been this talked about? The new characters from the big two are pretty much a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy. I've been reading this book since issue #1, and i remember a time that i thought the prison story was getting old. I said many times, "Leave the Damm prison! This is boring!" Re-reading the issues in one go lets one appreciate just how good that storyline was. This story isn't getting stale. Kirkman has just taken a different approach lately in the storytelling, and i love it. I also love Saga, and it's probably my 4th favorite book at the moment, but comparing the two is asinine. "Well, Walking Dead is boring now, so My little Pony is the next awesome book!" "Shut down TWD and lets all get behind my little pony!" (eww) This article writer is an insufficiently_thoughtful_person, and it shows by how poorly constructed his "article" is. Wow. I MUST still love this book. I feel pretty fired up right now. I think a cig is in order. Oh, before i forget, and i had the opportunity to watch the premiere with Steven Yeun and Greg Nicotero last sunday. Until you've watched a season premiere with an actor from the show beside you then you haven't lived. kidding, but it was pretty neat. He's a pretty nice dude, and was very gracious to the fans that came up with picture requests etc. Greg was a bit indignant since no one recognized him really with "Glenn" chilling with us.
  6. I was at Dragon Con and some drunk fellah stumbled up to me and asked "So, who's your favorite pony???". I looked at him blankly for about 3 seconds and then pretended not to understand english. It all makes sense now.
  7. One of THE best post unity valiant stories to be sure. I had almost 1000 copies of this book at one point after buying out a couple of stores. I sincerely regret not decorating my entire living room with them to give my girlfriend at the time a heart attack.
  8. I've talked to a lot of retailers about this particular one. I think there are way less than 1k of these. True they are popping up on ebay, but that's to be expected when a book starts blowing up like this one has since it's release. Pretty much every issue of Amazing has had a 1:10,1:25 ,or 1:50 variant whatever. Out of the 35; 30 or so retailers i have talked to had no intentions of bumping their orders to reach the 1:50 incentive. Most of these guys sell around 30-40 copies of amazing. Since most of these amazing variants sit in the $10 box of who gives a frak there was no urgency to raise up another 10 copies just to get another spider-man variant. If you add up all the stores that bought under 50 copies, it will add up to a pretty decent number. I would be surprised if there are more than 500-600 of these. Also, the copies i have inspected came in with spine dings galore. Anyone know the census for 9.8's on this variant? Every ebay auction I've come across all have a litany of spine creases or worse. High grade might be tough to find even on a 1:50 modern variant. 5 9.8 1 9.8 SS 5 9.6 Total: 11 But i would think with the price that one got, you can expect those numbers to go up pretty quick. Print Run for 678 was "54,252" so approx 1085 in existence, but as webhead1981 mentioned, could be less if most retailers just let the regular count be ordered instead of upping to get it. Given that 677 had a slightly higher print run, thats a safe bet.
  9. haaha. I thought the same thing! It's pretty generic looking and just looks like a cheaper cgc knockoff.
  10. It's a fantastic book. I usually sell a few #1 a year at $40-$50 raw NM. Not much action on the other issues though in my experience. It's a great book that isn't the easy to find, I'm glad it's gaining some steam, finally.
  11. I don't think we are anywhere near the peak on these books. I'm in the camp that a $2500 on 9.8 #1's is not out of the question at all. #19,27 and some others have plenty of room to grow as well. I still think we will have 4-5 months of just seeing cray cray prices on some of these books. It will stabilize again somewhat, but you might have to wait a few years to see books back at pre season 2 numbers.
  12. Wrong! But whatever. I have literally gone through and added up completed listings. I have a store. I will 100% make not just a profit, but a decent one at that. I don't think this particular property follows the "sell BEFORE the movie" logic that those in the know implement. A few episodes in and you might see the peak. Also,You need to change your name back if you want your award at the banquet this year. It took me several moments of reading your snide comments to realize who you were
  13. I never said that. I just said that you are way off on your assessment. I'm gathering from your indignant response that you have sold a good amount of walking dead. That's fantastic. I have as well. You are still off the mark in this particular instance, and you can see that easily by going to completed listings and adding. My initial posting was a little more meant to be a "Hey, check out what i bought." I do appreciate your response but after i did some more research on it i disagree with you. Thanks for letting me know that you know about selling walking dead though. At the "I've sold more Walking Dead than you have Awards Banquet" I will clap very loud for you sir.
  14. nah. You're way off. I've sold 1000's of walking dead issues. Some are for me, but some will be for sale. You can get right at $3000 for just the regular issues 1-100 raw minus the variants without taking into account all the variants/foreign editions. That's selling them all in one lot. Break it up and you get closer to $4000. Also add in cgc bumps, and there is no way to lose money. Thanks for your opinion though. You have to hit 9.8 on 1,19 and 27 in order to make it worth anything close to the BIN. Failing that you need the vast majority to be 9.8 and you might make $1k. Maybe. Alot of work for little return.
  15. Yeah, that's about where i'm at too. Hopefully his grading is accurate. I was a little punch drunk when i saw how complete the lot was.
  16. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221122191591?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I pounced on this. I think i'm starting to go "walking Dead crazy" again. This seemed like an awesome price with the quick math i did in my head. It has pretty much everything including foreign stuff etc. Hopefully there are some 9.8's in there. What do you guys think?
  17. better than expected. Fantastic and courteous.
  18. Anyone know the skinny on the variant situation on this?
  19. It's interesting how carl looks taller. It seems like kirkman is trying to age him a little. It won't be long before he will have an eye patch be in his early 20's and have some serious anger issues. Maybe kirky is going to have him slowly turn into a governor type. I will say that #101 is the first time that i can remember ever really liking Carl as a character. He's being spotlighted more for a reason i think. Rick's days are numbered.
  20. agree. I also called 4 other shops that are kind of close and they didn't order any. The only reason i went to the one that didn't order any is because they are so close to my house. It makes sense that most smaller shops that still have 1st prints wouldn't bother with the 2nd's.
  21. Just visited 4 shops. 1 didn't order any 2nd prints of #100. 3 did and i looked through about 200 or so copies. Out of those I pulled 4 total that i feel are solid 9.8+ candidates. Tons of copies with dings on the spine and the corners are pretty terrible throughout. 150 or so of these hadn't even been on the shelf. Anyone seen anything similar?
  22. Yeah, that's a little much. He would be better off asking a hundred or so for it and actually selling it to someone (like you ) who really wants it now. Once word gets out about books like this they usually get uncovered sooner or later. I know i'll keep an eye out for one. Hope you're right. Also hope nobody else will try to get $800 for it.
